September 2008 Photo Contest Winner - Roger K

This Month's Theme: "Forks, Knives, Spoons and an LX"
    This Month's Winner: Roger K

The photo I submitted was not my intended target when I left my house to head out and snap a few shots. I was actually headed to Lew's Dairy Freeze when I was about to pass The Bomber. This place puts on a nice car show every year and it totally slipped my mind until I saw the airplane in the sky. I pulled in and was going to take the picture from a different angle, hence the tires being turned to the camera instead of away from it, but the background was to cluttered from the other side (it actually would have had the restaurant sign in the picture). I have always liked the low shot looking up. My opinion is you see everything that you normally would, just at an angle that makes you say, "Wow, that looks different". Anyway, I found a rock and balanced the lens on it and set the timer. That is about it. Cropped it a bit, sharpened it and that was it. Total edit time was honestly about 15 seconds.

    Story of "The Bomber"

Verification that it is actually a restaurant.

A few others, just for fun from today. Since I was out I figured I would stop and get some other shots. Want a really good dog? Roakes is the place to go.

Note the playing card on my window. That's what they call for your order.

It looks like 2012 will be very good indeed.
Unless the Mayans are right, then, well, never mind.
