    October 2008 Photo Contest - "Deserted/Abandoned"

Congratulations to Roger K, last month's winner!

This month's theme will be: Deserted/Abandoned
    Submission Deadline: Monday, October 27th

Closed for good or closed for the season. Abandoned or not being used used.

Examples would be a falling down barn. An old saw mill no longer in operation. A theme park that is closed for the year.

    Here's the rules, folks:

    1) One entry per member, per contest.
    2) Member must take photo.
    3) Member's LX must be in the photo.
    4) Photograph must be taken for this contest - no previous shots allowed.
    5) Photoshopping is not allowed except for modifying the license plate, brightness and contrast, and crop/resize.
    6) Maximum size - 800 x 600. Oversize photos will not be allowed. Resizing available if needed.
    7) The winner will be responsible for deciding upon the theme of the following month's contest, and is not eligible to participate in that contest.

Submissions should be posted to THIS thread, any time through Monday, October 27th. Submissions posted elsewhere will not be counted.

Voting will begin on a separate thread as soon as the submission deadline passes.

So get out your camera, and go find some abandonments! Let's see what you can come up with.

Picture example from Jan this year. Oaks Park, the longest continually operated theme park in the US closes the rides every year. I was able to sneak behind the fences and park in the midway.

Nice. This will be a very challenging theme (especially for us city folk). Congrats to last month's winner and good luck to everyone this month!!!

Might be able to do something Hallo-weenie with this one!

And if you're city folk, there ought to be all kinds of abandonments downtown. Usually there are.

Tell the truth, didn't you have the urge to drift that sweet Daytona right down the midway in front of all those empty rides????

I know the demons would have been calling me....................

Question, can I enter a photo of an out of state customers ride on his behalf?

Nosir, unfortunately. See the rules in post one. We've agreed on those over time, and they work well.

    Did you meet my ex?

I figured the half falling down barn, or broken out window building would be nice for an evening Halloween thought.

Assuming everything is approved I will not be competing but I might just shoot a photo for fun

Besides, your car is far more evil spirited than mine (and most others for that matter), it would slaughter my silver mag just for the taste of V6 blood.

This is your competition, run with it
