Agreed on both counts... Eric's pictures are always top-notch and are sure to be damn stiff competition for anyone else with an entry. The dude's a freakin' artist.

But cheerleading for anybody, in any poll (LXOM, photos, whatever), really just kind of cheapens the title, don't ya think? I'd still hope people vote how they think they should, not how someone else asks them to (although in this case, they'd probably vote for him anyway).

Look guys, I didnt want to start a bunch of crap, and can any of you say that the cheerleading isn't happening everywhere? Seemed to me that everyone chimes in for who they'd like to win.
I simply wanted to point out to the other LxReJx that Motor was close in the voting, so in the event that they had not seen the thread, they could check it out. Everyone votes for who they want to, I guess if we're going to be a bunch of nit pickers about it I should have said "LxReJx's go to the photo contest thread and vote if Motor's picture is the best..." C'mon, give it a rest, it's not that big of a deal is it........? Has the world changed, after all? Don't worry, I'll quietly place my vote next time!

Campaigning is especially demeaning if you deserve the award in the first place. I'm thinking there is enough disgust over this that you're going to start seeing a lot more backlash. Its becoming a common bitch, and for good reason.

I can see where all of the campaining can get annoying~ I mean, we've got people campaining for their wives' contests that have nothing to do with LX's (Yeah, I voted for that to support fellow LX'r) people campaining for their dogs (yep, I voted again), their grandkids contests, etc. etc. so I can TOTALLY understand why me posting a thread in the LxReJx area, directed at fellow LxReJx members would so piss off a bunch of non-LxReJx members. Absolutely.

Its not you exclusively Tracy by any means and its great to show support of friends and fellow LXers and I support Motors photo efforts 100%. Its just if threads like these continue its going to make the photo threads a popularity contest. And I can tell you its highly likely that next month AEcarbon will be sponsoring the contests, so with prizes involved that will add another aspect of reward and heighten the need for fairness.

Now in regards to me asking for votes for my wife: This is the first time she has competed against a very tight knit group of other local designers of whom whore out the voting process 20x more than I did and in every possible medium. More than voting it was about showing my pride in her work to support her and I am sure that was your intention here.

I know that was your intention, which was the reason I used you as an example here. I applauded your efforts on behalf of your wife and I still do, that is part of what makes the LX family great. I have NEVER nominated anyone for LXOM before this month, and have NEVER campaigned for anyone before this month~ I feel like everyone jumped all over this simple little thread that is in the LxReJx area anyway, I didn't post it all over the photo contest thread because I was only trying to get the attention of other LxReJx. If you guys want to talk about campaigning, there is a whole lot more of it going on outside of this thread.
