    Tuning...

Ok.. so in therory.. and please .. dont marter me to death for the question.. I saw a universal turbo kit for sale .. ok so my question .. is can I set the manual boost controller to minimal boost.. im talking like 2-3 lbs and take a preditor with a A/F guage.. pull on the street and tune for the 2-3 pounds safely? then gradually work up from that point to another 3 lbs of boost till i get up to 9-10? all while adjusting the fuel ratio to a safe point.?? or am i just smoking crack??

Put down the predator and take three steps back...

I wouldn't go that route. The problem with forced induction on our cars lies in the part throttle tuning and all the other tuning that goes into making the car run like it should when not in boost, or at part throttle with little boost. Not to mention that if your goal is 10 lbs. of boost on a stock motor without a CMR tune your asking for a lot of pain.

My reccomendation would be to go with a proven set up that a couple of vendors here have available, and save your self a ton of headaches. I'd bet that in the long run it would be cheaper as well.

I have one for sale if you dont want to go "universal" necessarily. Who knows how beat up the kit is, if the turbo is still good, etc. Should have it up in a few days and it only has 1000 miles on it. The CIS stuff is proven and even looks great. Dont want to threadjack, but I also dont want to see a member on here get screwed over from a universal jobbie.
