I have decided that my FI route should be turbo. I am looking at sts and hellion what are the pro's and con's . This will be a daily driver 2010 300csrt8 (bone stock at present) Does anyone have experience with either of these systems in a 4 season temperate climate? Cold winters -40 C, salt on the roads.![]()
Want my honest opinion? If you can get to a shop that can custom make you a kit that will be your best option. I love my hellion kit but there are many pieces of the piping I would love to upgrade. If I could do it over again I would get a custom K member and do a custom kit. Where are you from?
If you have any questions shoot me a pm and I will give ya my number
If you have to pick one of those two I would pick HELLION by a land slide.

That looks good ^. I am waiting for that Kmember as well, then I will be doing some changes. Hell I might even be selling my hellion at the end of the summer/fall
I demand it! Does that count?
Seriously, I'm going to do twins at the end of this season. I'm really looking at the comp oil-less turbos, but haven't seen enough data to make that final. Mine is going to be tuner kit as I am already working on the E85 fuel system and I have CMR. Also, I'm designing the turbo setup for a much bigger build later but need to be able to keep the boost low enough to run on the stock block initially. If you want a test guinea pig let me know, in any case I am seriously in the market for a tuner kit. Oh, back to thread, I have no experience with either, but don't like the rear mount personally so I was leaning toward Hellion, but seems pretty pricey to me.
Factory original engine with 80k and counting

Depends on what you are looking for and what kind of coin you are looking to spend. I am running the STS single turbo kit on my 5.7 with their upgraded turbo and I love it! I'm only running it at 5 psi as this is my daily driver and my Wife and Kids are often in the car. The turbo is good up to 750 hp (crank) so I do have room to play if and when I decide to upgrade my internals. I have almost 10K miles on my turbo kit and have not had a single issue with it. I don't have any experience with the other companies but I can tell you that STS has the BEST (hands down) customer service that I have ever seen from an automotive performance company in my 18 years of building cars.
Justin -
You call it turbo lag. I call it launch control !
^ Thats great news to hear, but I think this is the first time ever hearing good things about STS.
OP Stay away from STS, contact hellion or turbo creations. Both are vendors on this forum and can get the job done.
