Twin turbo setups are very difficult to set up correctly. They are also muucho expensive. A single turbo setup will be perfect and I have seen many of them make more power than a twin turbo setup. Theres a reason why Supra's switch out of the twin turbo setups and run a huge single one.
What kind of turbo are you looking at by the way and what mods do you have done to your 3.5? Why not just buy an SRT for cheap?
Can you post a link to a 3.5L making 800hp?

You can't use as much PSI on these motors like you can on the imports. Good luck reaching that much HP on a stock 3.5L.

It's probably doable. Those imports are forged everything, built and blueprinted to the max. If you had enough money to spend you could probably do it. My question is why you would want to spend 30 000 to do that (R&D is expensive) when you could buy an R/T and put in a stroker for a third of the money, then supercharge it (another 7 grand say) to get the rest.
There is no reason AT ALL to be talking about "import blocks" vs "domestic blocks". There is simply no data or information at all that can justify that argument. Find it and i will eat my words.
Where do you get that information from? How many turbos have blown up 3.5L mopar blocks?
How many supercharged mercedes V6's are there running around? pretty similar in design and engineering.
as with *ANY* turbocharged engine running in the 20psi range, you WILL need to deviate from the factory 10+:1 compression ratio, and use moving parts rated for that much power. Forged crank, forged rods, forged pistons.
You will need the proper head gaskets and head bolts.
Beyond that... the boost will make the power, stock heads and cams probably are fine. At those boost levels, you will probably need a metal intake manifold.
onto single vs dual turbos: talk to a shop that builds turbo setups. not a bunch of forum lackeys. There are pro's and cons to each direction, but a good shop will be able to either setup equally successfully.

What he said! Talk to a pro about it, but my guess is that any benifit from twin turbos will be more than offset by the higher price.

I have been around the turbo scene for a long time, and as you can see, know whats involved. I was just pointing out that it can be done. No need to start calling names lafrad, we are all friends here. lol
but yes talking to a pro is ALWAYS the best first step

With the CIS kit, its as easy as "just" adding a turbo kit. Thats the sweet part about it. Now if you want to run more than what Tim recommends, then no doubt youre gonna need some of that stuff. Tim from CIS is THE man when talking about turbos on our cars, so please if anyone is interested in a kit do not hesitate to contact him instead of getting involved with another kit that is not as proven time and time again as the CIS kit.
as said, it pays to go with the experienced guys.
That said, IMO and in my personal experience I have noted MUCH less lag and MUCH better throttle response from twin turbo setups. I'm not talking hot 4 bangers, but v-6 and v-8 applications. Does anybody remember the twin turbo SRT8 with the rear mounted units? That thing was crazy, and had instant boost off idle!
Jeez, hasn't anyone been just dusted by one of those small V-6 Audis?!
