    Fastlane Turbo Systems

We have several of our Single and twin turbo systems on the roads now. We see were we would be able to offer the single turbo kits as DIY kits and try to keep them close to the same price as the supercharger kits.We would like to get some feed back from the members of this board to see what kind of interest people would have. We would also like to get some feed back on which way most of the members would go when considering modifications. This to us is important so we know how to better serve our customers.

    Thank You,

    Nick Field

    Thanks great sir:

Do you have any in Virgina? We have alots of Chargers here that are not modded at all. But need more information on where to go and what to get? I find myself consistently telling people to go to LXforums.com

So if there is one in the VA area let me know, I wanna see it. And most of all HEAR THAT BABY....PIIISSSSSSSCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHAAAAAAA

From what I've been reading, a single turbo will do just as good, if not better than a twin setup... then again I don't have too much experience with turbos.

Where are you planning on mounting the turbos?
Using an intercooler of some kind?

Also, what kind of tune are you looking to supply with the setup? Base safe tune through a predator?

Any additional parts other than the tubing and turbo, such as new injectors?

what snail are you using as cwhfsr just said i totaly agree. with the rright size turbo lag isnt a problem and decent boost levels arent either. one turbo should be sufficient most are not willing to boost past 6-8 psi. and a twin setup is extra unneeded weight. or if they are two tiny turbos set up for low boost it could go biturbo but still extra weight. as for your question though tes the interest is there and dont forget about the 3.5 liter a few companies are getting into modding the 3.5 and its working out pretty good there is interest across all of the lx platform

predator cmr tune, #1 v1 cams by inertia, 3000 stall by inertia, zex 125hp kit by hhp, stock srt cat back, 22" liquid metal turbines aar strips, racing stripes, front and rear mopower spoilers, steady growng collection of bt front badge door sills. honey comb grill.

The turbo sounds nice, but I know little about superchargers and even less about turbos. I do know I get discouraged by two main things:

    A) It seems that there are superchargers that can be had for $3~5k, but inevitably the cost to tune and install properly runs closer to $5~8k total when done properly. More than I can rationalize ie: buy an SRT8 for that $ + trade in.
    B) The tuning seems to be a larger issue than the physical installation with power adders as well. Many people seem to spend up to and over $1k, traveling great distances and spend many several frustrating weeks on this part alone. For me a turbo or SC that truly was bolt on would need to be tunable for power and safety by me with a handheld or other software.

I'd be all over a kit that actually cost $2500~$3000, could be installed and Predator tuned, with basic mechanics tools at my own house by two guys in a weekend. If that could be done, and add 75 to 100hp to my 5.7L, I'd be very pleased.

Jweezy, we dont currently have any Turbo cars in the Virgina area.Hopefully we will have turbo cars in every state once we finalize our decision on how to make the turbo kit an option for everyone.

    Thanks,

    CWHFSR,

    Great Questions,

This is a breif run down on the features the turbo kits would come complete with. The turbo is Fastlane SRTT turbo with the downpipe hooking up to an aftermarket Exhaust System, there would be no catalytic converters, we would run the wastegate open to atmosphere. We would have the turbo underneith the car with the air induction plumbed to the front of the car. The charge hoses would all be 4ply custom silicone hoses. The intercooler would be a horizontal flow, supporting up to 650 hp. The throttle pipe would be a custom silicone hose. We would incoporate the blowoff valve off the intercooler. The system would include upgraded injectors, oil lines, map sensor, and a base tune using the Diablo. We would send the kits out making up to 6 lbs of boost. This would be a great start for anyone looking for a direct bolt on that could be installed at home. We are now working up manufacturing cost to get the customer price in an affordable range.

    Thanks,

    Nick Field

Again we appreciate all the feed back. We would definetly consider doing a kit for the 5.7 as well as the 3.5 if the interest is strong.

Where would you route the snorkle for air intake... or have you gotten that far yet?

    5.7's are definite interest.

There's a TON of information on this forum. I would HIGHLY recommend posting your thoughts, and considerations at appropriate sub-forums....not just this specific "turbos" sub-forum. Post in the 5.7 section as well... you might get a higher response rate....

Obviously folks here have a TON of knowledge, and I'm sure would be willing to critique (in a good way) your system.... granted there may be a few that will challenge your ideas, but take that as a GOOD THING! They just want a better product - as you do too.

Keep us posted on the developments!!

We would route the air induction filter up into the driverside of the front fascia, up high enough so that the water from the road would not be a problem.

    Thanks,

Nick, I will be purchasing a power adder within the next two months. I haven't entirely made up my mind as to which one it will be just yet...leaning towards a twin screw. But, I'm REALLY interested in a twin turbo setup.
