Question Another Twin Turbo option for the 5.7 & 6.1

I was at the Mopar Nationals this weekend in Columbus, Ohio and there was a company there called Team Performance Products advertising their twin turbo system for the 5.7 and 6.1 Dodge Charger.

    http://www.team-ppi.com/

Has anybody heard of them or know anything about there system? It looks like a very clean and stealth install. You do not have to cut up your exhaust or anything else to install the system (HUGE plus in my book). Not sure if this has been discussed before or not......

    Discussion on chargerforums: http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/...ad.php?t=85127

I stopped by there booth as well and talked a bit with them, and the kit itself looks great. AEM is doing the tuning (piggy back...hmmm?) and having "issues" with tuning, but they think that there close.

I told them they need to get on the forums and look up Steve at RDP, Bob at SVS, Tim at CIS, ETC. if they don't want to re-invent the wheel.

Glad to hear I am not the only person that stopped by and talked to them.

Hmmm......that would explain why they did not run the car at all.

If Steve from RDP could get ahold of this system and do the tuning I bet this could really be a solid option.

    LX Nats Turbo

I talked to those guys also.

There is some talk that they may adapt their 6.1L Hemi setup to our 3.5Ls.

Would love to have a 435Hp Twin Turbo 3.5L Charger.

I would be happy to talk to them if they desired to. I know what they are doing with AEM, the concept is sound. I have been running a unit on my turbo 300C for the past year that I worked with a manufacturer to develop for the HEMI application (not AEM). It kicks butt, but Diablo seems to be the desired method by the populace.

The unit I am using allows the end user to have full control over the injectors and HAL has no clue what's going on nor does he care. It also allows me to do something that I have not seen with the other options, I can actually control what my AFR is in a part throttle boost application. It is true AFR control not simply lowering the WOT throttle blade threshold %.

It also functions as a programmable boost controller, and has an additional digital output that can be configured for other functions such as a progressive nitrous or water/meth controller. Best thing is that I can just simply pop into the PC and adjust my fuel parameters as desired.

It's not really a piggyback that most are familiar with, it does not screw around with the MAP sensor voltage to adjust fuel/timing parameters, those have been a miserable failure on the LX and should never be used on them.

It falls under the guise of a piggyback because it is a secondary computer that is tied into the factory PCM. It is basically (the one I am using) a high-end stand-alone engine management system modified to work in conjunction with the modern OBDII computers.

You can also still use all of the functions available on the predator as well, one would just have to have a good understanding of fuel/timing and make sure they did not input a setting that conflicted with each other!

It's not a cheap unit, retail is around $1200, but it can also eliminate the need for a $500 boost controller and likely a $100 water/meth controller, so that would actually bring the cost down quite a bit.

I have seen about everything HAL can puke out related to boost, after almost three years messing with it and probably close to 100,000 miles, not much surprises me.

Thought I would drop my two cents into the discussion.

    LX Unit??

Tim what is the unit you are using??

Even at $1200 it sounds good for what it does and what it eliminates the need for.

Sounds like Mopar's Sun is rising!!
