what is the expected vortech v3 si max boost with 17% OD pulley and 28/30 T vortech pulley on forged 6.1 engine ?
including all parts necessary as large injectors, fore fuel system... etc
i searched for many threads but didnt get a clear answer ! can i get 12 -14 psi ?
Thanks in advance
I ran the V-3 system with a forged 6.4L, 17% OD, 28T pulley, 80 lbs. injectors, Fore dual pump hat, and a smaller pulley on the front "jack shaft" and was only able to achieve 10-11 psi. I made multiple changes (Carbonite on the pulleys, B-Woody manual tensioner, different belts) but could not do any better. You may be able to touch 12 psi on a good day with everything dialed in perfectly, but I doubt it.
2008 Super Bee #352 - Dyno tuned by Dito's Motors
Dyno numbers were around 610-630 rwhp (depending on what dyno) and the 1/4 times were 11.3 to 11.5 with 1.6 to 1.7 60 foot times.
I have been recently been researching this because I was curious about this with my P1SC. But I think the best way to look at it is not looking at how much boost you are running but by looking at the impeller speed. I know my car is running 13.8 LBS of boost and my impeller is going about 54000 RPM @ 6000 Engine RPM which is about 84% of the max impeller speed for a P1SC (65000). So there is still more room for some boost, but I also read on a website going over 80% of max impeller speed can cause excess wear on your head unit. But based on your impeller speed should tell you how much more room you have to go before you max out.
I calculated it off this website.

ATI 17% OD Pulley = 7.53"
Not sure the size of your blower pulley.

Most I've got out of my V3/6.1 is 10.3 psi. But with the current setup I'm only seeing 9.6. Both with the 28 tooth cog and 3.125" jackshaft pulley. No OD. But going by the Vortech site I'm pretty much at the limit. Spinning it any faster is gonna heat up the air and lose efficiency. So next will be a YSi.
wink
what does the 3.1 jackshaft pulley do? I didnt even know what was an option to change
