I see alot of people saying they can't get their V3 past or up to 12 psi. But I have yet to see a 17% OD pulley, 28 tooth pulley, with the 2.62 pulley on the front. Has anyone tried this? I know the more you max out a head unit the less efficient it and you get more heat. I will be running an ice box so this won't matter. I'm just wondering what to expect.

This was discussed in this thread.

Almost but not quite. I haven't seen or heard of anyone running the 2.62 front pulley. I will probably just have to do the R & D myself and see what happens. I hope the tranny can hold it together for a dyno pull.
Ok so I've used the impeller speed calculator provided by the vortech website and I found if using my a 7.07 or 17% od pulley with a 28 tooth cog pulley, and a 2.62 jackshaft front pulley at 6000 rpms the supercharger will be spinning at 66,800 rpms. The max is 52,000 rpms according to vortech. Thats way too much and boost isn't worth it if its not efficient. If I keep the 32 tooth cog pulley that I have now and change the front pulley to the 2.87 pulley I hit 52000 rpms at 5847.344 rpms. And yes I played with it until it was exactly 52000![]()
So I will purchase this pulley and pray for no slippage and see what happens.
The 17% OD is larger than 7.07"

Ok thanks for the correction guys I will play with the calculator some more.![]()
With the adjusted OD pulley size the supercharger RPMs jump a little over 3000. At 6k rpms the 2.87 pulley hits 56,800 rpms, 4,800 over limitations. The next pulley is the 3.125 and at 6k the supercharger is spinning at 52,190 rpms. Thats dead on the max but I want to push the limits. Thoughts?
I was wrong on some calculations guys. The jackshaft cog pulley is 32 teeth and I was calculating for a 30 tooth. So I went with the 28 tooth supercharger pulley and left the front alone. RPMs at 6000 are going to be at 51,777 and at 6400 its 54,530. I asked Vortech if this would damage the S/C and they told me no. Placed it on order along with the tial 50 mm blow off valve and 80 lb injectors.
