Yep. There are a few of us that were R&D cars that run more and few that bought smaller pulleys from Vortech.

i wonder if the block can take 10 psi lol

What pulley size is used for 8psi? I just put the 30-tooth one on mine (was 34 tooth), but I don't have a boost gauge.

The Block Is Not The Problem, It Is The Piston.
I am almost 100% sure that the 30 tooth pulley is the one to run 8psi, but its only actually doing something for you if you run the accompanying tune from Vortech as well. Did you download the new tune for it as well?
If so, how does the difference feel? Noticeable?

Yes, I downloaded the tune as well. The difference is staggering. Very big increase in oomph. Vortech told me 20hp, but the butt dyno thinks it is a lot more. Forget first gear - it is now absolutely useless. Stomp the gas at almost any speed and it breaks loose. Very impressive. I'm thrilled with it. Unfortunately, I don't have any supplemental gauges, so I had no idea what my new boost level was.
My biggest complaint with the initial tune and the 34 tooth pulley was the part-throttle surging and sluggishness I felt. That is all gone and the car behaves largely like it did when it was normally aspirated, with the exception of having abundant power now.
I wonder what changed between their initial release and this new (Vortech recommended) setup that now makes 8psi safe to run on a stock block...

Did you guys go forged internals? No guarantee on being safe with stock internals right? If one alr has a diablo, which unit do u pick?

Dave, that is awesome news to hear. I was planning to pull the trigger on this setup this week, so hearing your testimony just made my day.
As for your last statement, Id say that simply a couple things come into play here:
1) Vortech has had more time with R&D cars at this point to really perfect the tunes. More time to play around with them results in a safer tune. Gotta remember that there are a lot of folks out there pushing a lot out of their stock blocks. After seeing first-hand what good tunes can do for people, Im confident that the stock block can handle 8psi no problem.
2) If Vortech would have released a 30T pulley and tune from the start, it would be a lot tougher to offer an upgrade down the road!!! Business is business, and I understand where they are coming from.
Anyways, thanks for chiming in. Ill be sure to relay my thoughts on the setup when I get everything squared away!

when you purchase the new pulley, Vortech will send you a link to the new tune.
