Time to push things a little. In a few days I should have the 28 tooth pulley, smaller belt and Labonte meth kit in the car. Johan from Diablosport has agreed to work with me on the tune. Should be fun.

RIP My Friend
There is no reason why these motors can't take 10lbs of boost. I ran 15lbs on the stock bottom end of my Cobra for over 40k miles and everyone said the same thing about those stock bottom ends. The truth is that detonation kills motors, not boost. A conservative tune goes a long way.
That being said, I realize there is risk here in that one small error as I go through the tuning process can nuke the motor, but that is a risk that I am more than willing to take. Having to replace the motor wouldn't make me upset in the least.

wow thats awesome man a good tune and boost you will be fine for awhile!
cant wait to see what it does!
When he built the twin turbo car in his garage I bought his Vortech and ran it in my 98 Hardtop Cobra with 13lbs of boost on a stock bottom end for about 20k miles before selling the car. Everyone told me it would blow up with more then 8lbs too. Car made close to 500rwhp too. Fuel delivery and a nice conservative tune kept it together and I am sure he is doing the research to keep this SRT8 together for as long as he can.

10psi on the stock bottom end? You've got my attention. Then again, I like watching the Jacka** movies, and Cops 2.0...

Everyone told me that I was crazy for spraying 150 shot of nitrous on my stock lower end, and I'm spraying off of the line. I good solid tune can take you a long way, just like a bad tune can send you to the garage very quickly.
Boost that baby and see how fast she goes, and help me justify the money I would have to spend on a supercharger to match what I have now.

Your car a 5.7 or 6.1? With a good tune and the help of the 6.1 oil squirter's to help cool the piston's, 10 psi would be my limit. On a stock 5.7? I ran 8 psi before I felt uncomfortable. The stock ring end gap's were my main concern.
