    New Procharger D-1SC Owner

    Hi there,

about 3 weeks ago Scott at Saint Paul Automotive and I were talking about a Nitrous setup for my car, he wasn't to into it and made me a deal on installing a Procharger SC to me that I couldn't refuse.

He ordered the parts and my wife just about killed me when she saw the bills racking up so I got her a day trip a nearby spa so she was happy. I dropped off my car about 2 weeks ago and there were some problems getting the right pulley. I think Procharger makes a great bolt on kit for a stock Charger, but mine had some modifications that gave it some trouble. Here is a list of what I had done:

    HHP Stage 2 Camshaft
    JBA shorty headers
    Diablo Predator
    Airhammer CAI

Between the Camshaft and the headers, there was a lot more involved then just bolting on the SC and tuning it. I needed to get a Harmonic Damper and I think Scott had to order 4 different Pulleys before he found one that made the right amount of boost. The kit came with a predator that I didn't need and the Airhammer CAI needed to be taken out. The predator and the CAI aren't a big deal at all, I knew before getting into it both of these things would happen, just letting people know what happened.

It took about a week and a half to get it just right, I really think Scott could have done it in 2 days, it was the pulley situation that really threw it off.

Anyways, I picked up the car last night and it was like driving a completely different vehicle. The acceleration is amazing, I haven't had much time to drive it but I can smoke the tires up to about 50mph and even with the ESP on it will go sideways if you really try to. When Scott had it on the dyno, it took no time at all for it to go from 40mph to 100mph.

Here are some numbers (all numbers are Rear Wheel):
    2006 Dodge Charger R/T
HHP Stage 2 Camshaft, Airhammer CAI, JBA Shorty Headers, Predator with custom tune.
Started at 310 horsepower and 312 Torque

    With the Supercharger:
    440 Horsepower and 410 Torque

This was on Scotts mustang dyno for both tests. If I'm in the mood later I will upload the Dyno print offs.

My first impressions about the Procharger: It's like driving a different vehicle, it has so much more power now that I am kind of hesitant to let it loose in certain situations. The Procharger itself makes a weird noise, I was expecting something like a turbo whine but it sounds more like a bearing going bad, Scott called Procharger on this and they said it would fade with time and it was normal. The noise is faint inside the cabin but very noticeable with the hood up. The wastegate sounds awesome when you are done accelarting. The price for everything was pretty high but for right now I feel it was worth it.

Big thanks to Scott at Saint Paul Automotive for being patient and seeing this through.

D-1SC, nice! How much PSI are you running with that bad boy? And are you using the HO or stage 2 setup? Grats man! I hope to find a procharger set up for a steal this year. especially with all the new set ups coming out (twin screws).

    440 on a mustang?
    holy **** thats a LOT.
especially when you consider that is up from 310 .. and the 310 had a cam in it.

most people with a procharger are going from 320rwhp (with minor bolts ons).. up to about 415 or 420 with the blower. on a dynojet

that cam is REALLY making a hug edifference and must be working really well with the blower.

    very impressive.. very very impressive

*i decided to do a little math.. utilizing youre 310rwhp in a cam only car... and translating it to 350 rwhp in a cam only car on a "typical" dynojet number that "most" people post.

    350/310=x/440

that translates to a "typical" number of 496rwhp on a dynojet type of number.

sorry to go on, but thats very impressive

I agree, Scott put a lot of work into the tune also, if I remember correctly he did somewhere around 20 dyno runs on it perfecting it. I was getting upset on how long it took, but the combination of: the SC itself, the right pulley, cam and tune made it perfect.

It is kind of sad though, this will probably be the last *big* performance related mod I make, unless I break a half shaft or blow out the engine or something :(

you could always get a limited slip rear end and bump the gear ratio

This is one of the things I asked the installer about and he said it was just something else to look at (I asked about A/F and a Boost gauge) We looked at the Air/Fuel Mixture though during the tuning process, it was the only thing Scott was interested in really.

So you are saying you don't have an Air Fuel Gauge...... pitiful.

dude you probably dropped $5-7K and didn't opt for the $250 AEM A/F gauge...... hope you enjoy your motor for the next few months..can't wait for you to pop a ringland.

I just want to clarify I am really only concerned for your car and making the right choices on safety for your motor. (and to keep your wife from killing you for blowing up the motor)

    1. Air Fuel Gauge and possibly a boost gauge
    2. aftermarket fuel rails with a front and rear crossovers

Did they change out your fuel injectors?

Dang, Nathan, you sure have a way with words. I can feel the love washing over me in waves.

Your comments are valid and valuable, but the tone is, well...harsh.

You're a better man than that.

Hey sometimes you have to use the stick not the carrot Lou...

You know I mean well and would rather the guy be pissed at me and buy a A/F gauge than I not say anything and his motor blow.
