    Higher boost with CMR?

I saw somewhere that now that we're able to do CMR tuning we could run more than 6psi on the stock internals. Is this true? And if so, how much more boost can we push? What kind of whp is safe in the stock internals on boost?

If you are not planning on building your motor (forging and lowering the compression) to suit the needs of higher boost, then you should not exceed more than 6psi. IMO

With CMR tuning and an awesome tuner, the 6psi should be safe while enjoy more horsies off of the tune.

Will a CMR tune give me better performance/power than the 93 canned tune?

yeah man 6 psi is a nice conservative pressure. i would want to bw the guy that experience the how much is too much scenario. 8 psi should be ok but for safety 6 would be my choice

sorry guys but maybe it can take a little more with the right tuner like 8-9psi....look how much we have change about nitrous from a 100shot being the most to run on our engines to now a 150 shot and higher.......i'm just amaze how much these engines can take....

8-9 psi is not the same as a 150 shot of nitrous...a few guys have pushed there luck on 8-9 psi and it resulted in a negative outcome. It might hold up to a few pulls on the dyno..but the real reason we put out the coin to mod these cars is to drive them and most important...DRIVE THEM HARD...with out any reason to believe you motor can't handle it.. Bottom line 8-9 psi= built bottom end..IMO

The cmr tune is a wonderful thing, don't get me wrong....but boost is boost..and the stock block is not built to handle it for long periods of time.. for example I talked to Steve at RDP in person and he gave me the run down of is turbo 5.7 that he produced. He was able to pull out 550 plus Hp out of this R/T..but he also said that he strongly recommends a built bottom end...

What is the weak link in the bottom end? What is it about "boost" that weakens the bottom end? Am I wrong in saying boost is a measurement of pressure, and not the amount of air being moved? How much CFM is too much for these motors to handle and at what boost pressure do we see it? If you can keep the air/fuel boost friendly, then why can't you increase the boost? I'm not new to forced induction, but I have forgotten quite a bit so a refresher course would be helpful.

i've been running 8lbs of boost for over 35,000 miles with my magnacharger on my 6.1L. I've made over 40 runs at the track, countless dyno pulls, and alot more. Havnt had any problems!
