    Electric Blower.

Years ago there was a company that made an electric supercharger that seemed to be pretty effective. The only draw backs were the price and that you had to install 4 or 5 extra car batteries in the trunk. Now there are a few companies out there that clain a 2psi+ boost with their modern electric super chargers.

The first is force flow out of australia. http://www.force-flow.com

    The other is thorton http://www.electricsupercharger.net/...topic.php?t=20

and the las is controlled power technologies http://www.cpowert.com/

Does anybody have experience with these? What are your thoughts? Can they really offer 2psi boost?

2psi isn't worth a whole hill of beans, plus the extra draw on your alternator (and i'd still add batteries)... you'd be lucky to pick up any appreciable speed.

Running only 2psi of boost on my car got me from 13.xx's to 12xx's .Take in concideration that your engine doesnt have to turn the turbine could give you that much more power. my ?? s on these products is what size engines are they seeing these boost numbers at? I have a s.c. system that supposed to give me 11psi but because my engine is bigger than what was tested on , I am only getting about 6psi.

Although the offerings in the links would not be appropriate for our cars, there is nothing illogical about an electric Forced Induction system. It is simply a matter of moving an appropriate volume of air at the right time.

That becomes only the choice of the correct electric moter/blower to get the air volume and then an approriate control system, perhaps like nitrous is controlled and managed.

sorry nick we will always remember that you responded to this post!!!!!!!!!!!

Im new to the supercharger thing. But from what i read it seems that the more psi the more problems may arise. So if it is possible to add an electric forced air unit at a low psi with a temporary switch that would only come on at wot wouldn't it not only save gas, maintenance and high repair bills but also give you one hell of a ride? If 6 psi will increase 45% more hp wouldnt 2 psi increase hp 15%? And on an srt8 15% would be an additional 64 hp. It just seems to me that it would work and also be safe with minimal tuninng. Am I wrong? Wouldnt it be like driving in a high altitude condition vs. a low altitude condition?

    Here's a real electric super/turbo charger:
    http://www.boosthead.com/home.php
For a race only application if you can build the batteries to work for the 12 or less seconds it might be doable as it's free boost the key is not to increase the weight and lose the power advantage.

The thomas knight has been around for a while. the only problem with his system is the batteries and his blowers inly work up to 3.8l motors. but on smaller motors ive heard they are the sh%t.

youre saying 2psi got you into the 12's...
but i dont see a blower in your sig... care to elaborate?

    ---
lol, just read those links... notice how they give NO information? i mean regarding mechanics--
the first one has an inline direct drive fan..... a garuntee there is no way that thing could make 2 psi... no way...

the thing is impeding way to much airflow by its own device...

    what a scam.

ALL superchargers and turbochargers "impede" their airflow in the same manner, if the impeller is not turning.

but theyre not an inline design.
    the snail shape causes compression...
where is compression in this design?
