Was wondering did anyone see gains from adding meth?
Was wondering did anyone see gains from adding meth?
I know guys with the Cummins diesel Rams claim 2-3 mpg boost, but gas motors would get a smaller gain. I ran water meth on my old Toyota Tacoma 3.4 V6 and mileage was really bad, but at least the spray kept it from destructing.
Rockinsrt8's CocoBolo Pistol Grip Shifter, Gina's Orange R/T Leather Console Cover, BT pedal covers, FRI Sidewinder cam, Dynatec Headers , gutted cats , Borla125 Catback, Air Hammer, Dynamic Grounding Cables,TDP - CMR tune, Pedders bushings, Police Pack Oil Cooler, SRT 8 Struts and Nivo's ,Hotchkis sway bars,100 hp shot Nitrous Express, 402.5 RWHP 453 Ft Lbs Tq, 240,000 miles, 20"SRT8 Forged Alcoas, Nitto NT555's ---- 1/8th mile 7.707 sec /90.19 mph -- 05 QC4X4 Ram and 99 Jeep GC . Never Trust a Fart
will be no gain since it is only used at high boost.
It is an octane booster and intake charge cooler. It only helps to overcome the limitations of a gas engine under heavy load.
There is no need for it at cruising situations and therefore no gain.
Don't forget there is a cost to buy the meth and 1-2 mpg will not cover that cost
My Mods:
Procharger F1-C supercharger @ 15psi running thru a full custom ductwork including a Danko productions Shaker hood kit transformed into THE FAKER SHAKER you see today by 402 Motoring and a 24"X18"X4" air to air intercooler then to the throat of a single plane intake by XV Motorsports, 8.5:1 Comp ratio, H-beam rods, Ross racing pistons, P&P heads & intake, Diablo tuned by Dave @ B&G, complete return fuel system using a Weldon racing pump and pressure regulator, Methanol injection removed, Nitrous perimeter plate capable of 100-300hp (at 175 now), RUNNING 10'S ON THE DRAGSTRIP
The only time my meth controller lights up the pump is under heavy load and significant rpm - not gonna see any mileage gains there I'm afraid.
Kinda cool seeing the green LED come on though...

The only gains I saw on my NA motor was it allowed me to run 87 octane on my 93 tune while making long cross country trips where no WOT was needed, it just let me buy cheaper gas.

Hmmm I tell you since my Meth comes on at 3000 RPM and WOT so that is an good indication that my mpg will be steadly going downward at a pretty good rate.![]()

thanks for the info

Where can I find low voltage side of primary ignition coil
Anybody have an IAT sensor mounted where it can see the difference meth makes? How many degrees does it cool the air charge?
I'll keep my money, guns, and freedom, you can keep the change.

I'm not sure very many people actually have them in the right spot to measure IAT's with a blower. N/A is easy but it's a whole new ball game with FI, especially PD blowers because it has to be in the intake itself. I've got my alky kit thanks to Eddie at SHR just curious what to expect in temp reduction

low voltage side is the 2 wires going into each individual coil.
the coils use switched ground...so each coil should have 1 wire that is the same color for all coils...and that should be the +12v...the other wire is the switched ground and typically has the better signal for tach pickup...your results may vary...
