How important is it to use the resistor wire they give you in the kit. I bought my kit used, and it didnt come with it, can i use any kind of wire?
dont use the resistor, that is just to make sure you dont throw codes, but it can mess up your use of the kit because those things break. Alot of forum members dont use that thing. I only got a code the very first time i turned the system on, it went away and has never come back.
its weird when I turn the system on though, especially while idling, the car will die, It then takes 3 or 4 restarts to finally get the car to idle, but while driving, if I turn it on it seem ok
Is your bottle hooked up and open? If not, are your sure the system is not firing at idle and you are not spraying fuel and flooding the car?

Sounds like its spraying fuel while at idle, not good. Reprogram your box and test your system with the nozzle out of the CAI and into a 2 liter pepsi bottle or something similar. You should make sure everything is functioning properly before running into your motor.
why would it spray fuel and not n2o? Thought the NMU made sure the right mixture was coming in before sending it out, and wouldnt that mean that his TB was programmed wrong to fire at basically 0% open?
It would. I am assuming and hoping the bottle is not open.
Also, if the system was wired against the TPS sensor at the throttle body it can be a bit erratic with the signal. Many have used the sensor at the gas pedal.
I also wired in an extra firing button just in case so it won't fire till I say so.

The one taking the signal from the TPS sensor this way the signal won't reach the NMU to fire unless the button is depressed.

yea thats what I figured. Just didnt know if a momentary button would have any problems with a back up in voltage at the switch, but if were talkin 5 volts or so it prob isnt a big deal. I may need to do that. So you have to flip the switch, be at WOT, and be holding down the button? or do you have a 2nd toggle switch
Funny you ask, I used to have a momentary I held down but now I have a second button(the one on the bottom below). When I am done spraying I just shut off the main toggle to the system.
Here's a quick pic:
