    Nitrous limits

Ive read on here that the majority start the nitrous above 3000rpms. Can it be started at a lower rpm without any internal damages? Would there be a noticable difference from having the nitrous come on at 2800 vs 3000?

My car runs 11.2x on every pass since ive been running the nitrous. How much more power would you guys guess it would take to get an 10 sec pass? Would a step up from 150 to 175 do it, or would it take more?

    Motor:
    1.724: 60ft
    7.701: 1/8
    90.22: 1/8 mph
    11.997: 1/4
    114.34: 1/4 mph

Are you running on a stock bottom end? It took me a 250 shot to run low tens. I don't think a 25 increase will give you 2-3 tenths that you're looking for unless you hit a really well prep'd track. Also not sure the stock end can handle too much more unless you're running a good race fuel and willing to take the risk....just my two bits.

As far as the RPM's I usually hit it around 3500 but that's due to my stall. Then again I have hit it right off the line at much lower but had crazy good track prep.

I do have a stock bottom end. Only mods that I have are in my sig. As far I fuel im using a dedicated with 110 octane.

That makes since with the stall. I really havnt had any issues with track prep yet. I 60ft consistently between 1.57-1.59. So should I just datalog and see when my converter is flashing on motor and then set up the nitrous to engage at that rpm? Or just set it as low as I can so long as I have traction?

I've run 10.8's with stock heads and cam with a 175 shot. I've always have my nitrous come on at 3K rpm or higher. Once you go to a larger shot, your 60' times will come down a little too. My 60's were 1.52-1.55 with that setup.

Thanks for the input guys. I guess I will leave it the way it is....to engage at 3000rpm. I will probably just keep the 150 shot for now till I have a little bit more saved up for a transmission...just in case.

150 is about the max that we recommend on the stock bottom end. 175 is hitting the edge thats pushing it. It should be ok with some good fuel but the ring lands are narrow so that is where the problems would start to show up.
