    degree's of timing

what are you guys pulling for timing? right now im running the 91 canned tune with 6 degrees pulled out.i figured since the zex kit says to pull 4 with the 125 shot (but this is for a stock tune) so figured i would pull 6 since the canned tune adds extra timing.

or do you think its fine to just run with only 4 pulled?

To be safe I would stick with the 6 degree pull. This will depend a lot on what octane fuel you are using. If you can't get a dyno tune for the n20 at least use your Predator to check for short and long term knock retard next time you make a few passes with the nitrous.

Just to give you guys an idea of the possibilities....

At the shindig I was running 21 degrees of advance at WOT with a 300 shot.

The thing was way rich though....8.8 AFR at WOT with the shot. I've got some tweaking to do.

I do have a built motor with internals picked for nitrous use, so that helps.

Also, I run 102 in the main tank and 116 in the aux tank for my direct port system, so I don't pull any timing from my street tune at WOT for the track.

When/if my motor goes BOOM, I'll update you guys.

I pull 3 degrees on the 125 shot and had no knock. I'm running a 175 shot with 6 degrees pulled. I made one pass on the 175 with 4 degrees pulled and had my best MPH of that night, but I didn't log the run. Like you said, the zex pills are really rich. I would think 4 degrees would be fine with the 125 shot.

before i got my preditor i ran 2 passes with a 125 shot. no timming pulled. unfortunatly no data log but no boom either remember the 6 degrees is what zex recomends. but if you have a custom tune and you are dyno tested with the juice. you can get away with a little less retard

I used to run 100-125 with no timing pull.....just add 100 octane fuel for the track.......if your going to run 93 octane pull 2*.

it all depends on the car. i was at a dyno and a guy with very small mods(intake headers exhaust) and a diablo. he had knock noone else there was at all. what i was trying to say before is go to a dyno or at least datalog if nothing else. do it in small increments. if you are pulling 6 degrees data log and if all is good go to 5 and so on untill you start to show knock. once you are showing knock back it off a degree.

I have had good results with the canned tune 91 octane. I just put in some NOS octane boost, but some 100 octane unleaded would be good insurance if you can't find the booster. Not all octane boosters are the same, either.
