Question What should be my next performance mod?

    5.7L Magnum, daily driver.
I've got the Predator, the 170 degree t-stat, a catch can, the AFE Stage II intake, the Blastin Bob's reso replaced. My stock 340hp suitcase is still in place.

I don't want to kill my lifetime powertrain warranty so no engine work or heads. That's out. I was thinking shorty headers but what kind? I was also thinking about replacing my 340hp suitcase with a 350hp suitcase. That CNC ported 80mm TB is looking pretty attractive too. The 2008 SRT-8 Magnum hood would fit on my car and it has the functional hood scoop. That additional cooling might help a bit with performance, right?

    What do you guys think?

Hey Mark, go with the hood if you can get it for a reasonable price. Oh yeah, loose the side moldings and any badges that you might still have on.

    But what about performance?

Tucson door dingers are highly prolific so I'm probably keeping the side moldings for now. Funny how dings is part of the word moldings.

    Shorty Headers, high flow cats.

    Do 'em!

    You -know- you want to!

What kind though? Kooks? JBA? Ceramic coated? Same with the high flow cats. Do high flow cats give you check engine lights? Is there any point in doing headers and the high flow cats if you haven't changed out the suitcase?

I have the Dynatec long tube headers with high flow cats and a Borla cat back exhaust. That woke up my car a lot! The Hotchkis sway bars will make your car corner like it's on rails, also.A predator tuner is a good bang for the buck mod.

Get the JBA shorties bud and then when you can later, the high flows. There will be no issues with codes at all. The ceramic coating is nice and it does help, but not required. Also, the ported TB will do nothing for you, don't waste your money there. You have along ways to go before that one will pay off.
From wild to extra wild we got you covered with crap ya never knew you needed.

Thanks. I wasn't thinking about suspension yet. Also, I already have the Predator.

Thanks Cam. That's good info. Should I just use the bolts and gasket that come with the JBA kit?

This is what I'm looking at:
JBA shorty headers from HHP (no coating): $479.00.
Local installation of the headers: $260.00.
    Total: $739.00.
Does this sound about right? Wife is angry, of course. The deal may not happen soon. Not sure.

    $500?! Here:

    BBKs
    http://www.bmcspeedshop.com/product_p/bbk-4012.htm

I think AdamC from Eastway on here was selling the JBAs for cheap ($350?) a little bit ago if youre really interested in the JBAs. Id go with the BMC stuff though and I even think they price match if you find stuff lower

    Just an idea...

You are making this harder for me. So you think the BBKs are better than the JBAs? Why so? Thanks.
