Water/Meth KIT used on a N/A car at the Track

Well after a few hiccups getting my Water/Meth Kit to work I was able to finally see the results at the track.

I do not have any of the gauges and displays that many of you all serious dragsters have so I am relying on my EVIC Engine Temp display and my little activation light to tell me. The temperature at the start of racing was 87.8 degrees and 53% humidity and at the completion of racing it had risen a few degrees to 89.2 and 43 % humidity. It felt alot hotter down at the track.

During the burnouts I watched as the engine temperture dropped 1 degree as it was spraying. At the time it was 180 -179 degrees then it continued to climb to 190 by the time I had set the second yellow stagging light. At that point I had to concentrate on the tree.

The final proof for me that it was working was during all of my runs I had consistant times and ET speed. I started off with an 12.1 @ 118 with my first run and then had consective runs in the 11s @118-119. Being they were consistant I set my dial in at 11.98. All during the elimination rounds I stayed around those times and speeds. My last run which I won my bracket was 12.0 @ 118. During my earlier summer runs my usual ET speeds drops have been drastic as heat soak sets in.

So far this W/M kit may be quite a useful application even for those of us that are N/A.

No I am using NITTO 555R 305/35/20 but I am ditching them and going M/T or Hoosiers 17's here shortly.

The setup at VMP was better this past weekend due to the MOPAR MADNESS.

Interesting for sure. However, 190 ECT seems odd to me. Are you running a fan mod that keeps both fans running? It would also be very helpful to run the Diablo in diagnostic mode and record ECT, ACT, RPM, Actual Spark Cyl 1 and ST KNK Retard. This would give you very good picture of the system operation for the full run, including staging.

Yes I was running the 25cent FAN mod given to me by one of the FINE LX bro's down at the Southeast Shindig. I will attempt a log next time I am down at the tracks. (also will not do the ESP disable via Diablo)

One being sold by REDFOX99 (Nathan) W/M kit by James Labonte. I have the VC-10 controller which uses the tach reading and vacuum to come on at a set RPM. Mine is set to come on at 3000 RPM.

If you are using the single jumper, only one of your fans is running. For info on this mod see:

    25-cent Fan Mod

I use the "Jim Turner" mod and both of my fans are on when i hit my switch in my pillar pod. I have found that with both fans running, my ECT is never over 181 in the staging lane and I generally only run the fans when the engine is running. Both fans running in the staging lane with the hood up also help cool the engine compartment and keep the ACT's down also.

Yes I was using 93 octane and my next step is to get a race tune using the W/M kit. I also added 1 bottle of HEET to to the gallon of the washer fluid.

Depends where the jumper is put. If you put it in the right spot, you get two fans on, on low speed. If you put it in the wrong spot, you get one fan on, at high speed.

Darn techy type! Yes, but most people who use that mod only use one to run a single fan. If you are serious about track times, you need both fans on high speed to keep the ECT near the thermostat temp.

NO I have not. I do not have a off and on switch like Jason has on his. So I keep mine on all the time. I have noticed that my 1/8 times mph have not dropped off as they had before even with some back to back runs. My final ET speeds mph times still swing fom one extreme to another as I can run high 11s with mph of 119 or low of 112. I did that a bunch of times on Friday.
