My opinion, spend the cash (which comes out to nearly the same as the "off the shelf" junk) and support/find a local race shop to do a custom setup with turbos behind the front fascia if you cant weld/do it yourself. Its really not rocket science anymore with all the photos and information floating around of turbos on LX/LY's. Plus youll eliminate $600+ of the price since you wont have to use those darn oil scavenge pump(s).

North coast turbo systems has a kit. they came out to lx n beyond a few years back. they drove from nc in the first grand cherokee 5.7l turbo. i have not done business with them but its worth a shot.
They offer a tuner kit which is everything minus there software and turbo ( i think )which if you have a predator you dont need there stuff for cheap.

I prefer turbo becasue i want to hide my hp. a twin screw doesnt hide anything period.

If we had someone around here that was capable I would probably do that. WE only have 1 performance related shop in town that I know of and they are an Import shop. Of course I could take it to Austin and let Jesse James (west coast choopers fame) do it. LOL!! and probably pay 3 times the price.

I haven't welded in years BUT I know I could get back in the groove pretty easy with a decent welder. My issue is Mocking up what would need to be welded.

I'm looking for something that can put some ponies under the hood BUT be hassle free. I got my Dak for all the headaches I can handle!! LOL!

That is what I had read here and there. Upgrade the Turbos and things won't fit. Seems they wouldn't even make them an option if it's that big of an issue.

Stroker Motor shouldn't make much difference. But the wrong Cam can kill it all.

One thing I do is Call Precision and Turbonetics and make sure I am getting the right Turbos for my Combo, Then order them. I spent 1/2 day on the phone with them both picking the ones for my Dakota.

The kenne bell kit is pretty sweet, they throw everything in there you need right down to the zipties and loctite, pretty simple install, it takes a little time, but there's really nothing hard about it
So what if I drive a stationwagon, my other car's a rwd 540hp, Supercharged Hemi that will blow your doors off, oh wait thats this car.

That's probably the way I will go if I go with a TwinScrew. Any shop you know of that has done a lot with the KB superchargers? What tuner do they use? Diablo I suspect?

Do they even make front mount turbo option for our cars?? I am not a fan of butt turbo's and all that extra piping and such. I have always been a fan of turbos mounted in front of the motor and not the rear out back of the car. Just a pain in the butt to change the serpentine belt though lol

I am not sure if the twin screws (street kits) can trap as high as a decent turbo set up (125-135mph).. I could be wrong...

Is there more info on this build? I have considered selling the ProCharger F1-A for some twins.

    Sorry to thread jack.

a custom turbo kit will not run u $10,000. i built mine for about $6000 and could of saved myself some good cash by placing the turbos upfront to avoid the oil scavenge system i had to run.
just find yourself someone who isnt trying to become rich off your one turbo kit and knows what they are doing
