    Superchargers with CARB EO#?

Do any of the current SC offerings include a CARB EO #? As I recall, Vortech was seeking one; anyone know status? if Saleen's building cars with the Techo system in CA, is he planning on selling all of them out of state? I've had smog inspectors call into the Powers That Be when confronted with my supercharged M3, even though it has an EO # and the sticker is prominently displayed. Surely some SC manufacturer recognizes that there's an untapped market just waiting for product.

Magnacharger currently has a kit in development that they claim will be CARB certified. I think they are targeting the October time frame for release.

All of TECHCO'S base kits will come with a carb EO# It is a waiting game with Carb, you cannot process anything through with them until you are completed, instructions, car, etc..... Our blower will be legal and hold a factory 3/36 or 1yr/12,000 which ever is longer. On stock applications ofcourse

The CARB certification process is definetly something that can not be rushed through. We actually had one of our engineers and a car down at the test facility today, so we are getting closer and closer. Besides the vehicle testing that occurs with this process, there is also the requisite paper work which needs to be submitted and approved. Unfortunately, when dealing with government agencies, waiting is often part of the game. Both the 5.7L and 6.1L complete kits will be legal. Both of these kits are available with a 3 year/36,00 mile limited powertrain warranty.

I've been running a CARB legal Vortech SC on my other car for almost 7 years ago -- it's been pretty much bullet proof, and the primary reason I still own the car. But, smogging the car every couple of years is always an adventure, even with the CARB sticker and number. Without a sticker and number, you've got to know somebody who knows somebody, who I don't know. I'm sure the kit will be legal (hence, my initial post); and look forward to it. But, I'm going to wait until the 6.1 kit gets an EO number before installing the SC (just can't swap out a SC as easily as restoring a factory tune or swapping in the factory air filter).

Our base application will be carb eo for all applications. Once you modify your car in anyway, you are voiding that process. The unit still will be carb eo but if you pulley change or engine upgrade......you basically are on your own. no one can know what is done to the engine or keep track of what upgrades are actually in the car. The customer needs to take responsibility.

This whole CARB business is ridiclous. If a car has under the maximum allowed emissions, the State should not care what parts or mods were done to it. They are just concerned about its emissions and affect on smog right? What's really funny is that the hot rodding/car mod business is mostly centered in California where its techically illegal to mod cars... I'm glad I left before my Charger was required to get tested.

Their new line of blowers will for hemi's will debut sometime around the end of this month or beginning of next month. They were looking for a Challenger R/T to do testing on. I offered my car to be used but they were looking for an auto.

Sounds like street legal is just around the corner. Hopefully, it's just a (short) matter of time before some vendors announce that EO # stickers are included in their kits.
