    Stage 6 custom LX intercooler!

VMP is done and I wanted to tell the LX community that we have a option on custom intercoolers! In March I drove my Super Bee down to Jacksonville Florida for Stage 6 Motorsports to put a custom FMIC. Dwight looked the car over and came up with the perfect intercooler for my power level.

Before the intercooler my car would see IAT's on 85 degree day as high as 170 degrees.

Now the cars IAT's on a 85 degree day see 92-94 degrees. Thru 2 full gears at WOT the IAT's drop 1-2 degrees. Awesome is a understatement!

    Mike

I will get some pics of the install.

The intercooler they are showing is an air to air intercooler and the KB uses an air to water intercooler. Other options for the KB include a larger air to water intercooler mounted in front of your radiator, a larger reservoir and remote mounting the reservoir to the trunk. All of this will help to alleviate some of the heat soak to the coolant in the system. There are other more extreme options I'm sure, but it simply comes down to the type of supercharger that you are running. The twin screws just run hotter then the centrifugals. It's just the trade off for having full instant boost.
