If I am making 412 RWHP now and add a S/C am I gonna be making to much power for the stock block?

Yikes. I'm making 422rwhp on a stock bottom end and I'm scared to death every time I stomp on it. Only time will tell...

You're making 412rwhp with spray correct? If you're going to do a supercharger i wouldnt also do spray on stock bottom end. But if you decide to very low boost and 100 shot may be ok, but its probably a ticking time bomb. I'm not sure if its the r/t's also but the ringlands are very weak and too close to the top of the piston, break off, and are flying shrapnel through the engine. If you're looking for a cheap way to beef up the bottom end i heard Frank racing has a set of forged pistons that work with the stock crank and connecting rods. Other than that i wouldnt take the chances, you could waste a bunch more money. forge the pistons, get a supercharger (which kind are you leaning to by the way) and run a decent amount of boost and spray also if you would like to. But remember as you reach the 550rwhp mark the tranny is in danger of failing also, the clutches can go very easily. Also i see you're running DR's with a lot of power and dr's when you hook up the axles can be broken quite easily also. So bottom line is, if your going to take the plunge for more power, you have to eat the bullet, its not cheap.

What are your mods for the 412? I assume your N20 correct? With a S/C on a stock 5.7 as Dave stated you will be in the 400-425 RWHP range. If you have an aggressive heads/cam 5.7 a S/C will get you around 500...not that I would recommend it, but we do have a customer (Landshark) doing it and his shortblock has held up fine so far and he has had the S/C on since last summer. If the you are spraying the car...then you will need to put the spray away with the S/C on the stock bottom end

I was thinking about a procharger 5-6 psi and a 50 shot, but that might still be pushing it?? The car makes 345 RWHP 375 RWTQ(mustang dyno) before the spray. I just started spraying out the hole and grabbed 1.702 60 ft which is great considering it was a 2.000 before! I am going out friday to try and grab some 1.6's! but yeah this car is going to fall apart x_x

If you really want more power why not just spray more? i say 5-6psi and 50 shot may be worth 100-150rwhp added to your NA, so why not just spray 150. If you're looking for street power sell the spray and run 8-10psi on the s/c. Personally i think running 5-6psi and a 50 shot would be a whole waste of money because you're really not fully utilizing both power adder's full potential.

People run 150 shots no problem on bottom end, i think people are even running 175 without problems yet only time will tell how long it lasts. It also helps to have a knowledgeable and skilled tuner.

A 125 Shot and a stock 5.7 is not an issue, beyond that you may be pushing it. Lots of guys are running 150-175 on the 6.1's though.

The place that does my tuning is top notch and they have a TT SRT8 and have tuned other LX's but if I need another CMR I think it's 500$ X_X. But if I can really run a 150 shot that would put me in the 11's for sure =)!!!

I haven't had a good day yet.. I made a 12.4 pass on a 89 degree day with 50 MPH headwinds blowing at me that took 6 MPH off my traps!!!!!!!...I trapped 106 to my usual 112.But I pulled a 1.702 60 ft before I left.. I just started flipping the switch the second I launch rather then have it flipped while I stall to 2800 and spray @ 3000. Can't drive my automatic x_x and my car was overheating (rambles off excuses) I am going friday with 2 new rims/DR to find out the true time!

Yea man get a good pass, go to finish line get some new jets for your nitrous system and turn it up, they may only go to 125 first to see how it responds. A 150 shot you should be seeing 11's with a good run i believe. Also if you want get a custom grind nitrous cam, that will help a lot also.

Would I really see bigger gains with a spartan cam? These are my current cam specs---- Gross Valve Lift: .521 Intake & .524 Exhaust
Tappet Lift at 0.006 Duration: 261/Intake & 265/Exhaust
Valve Timing at 0.050 for Intake: 11-/Open & 39/Close
Valve Timing at 0.050 for Exhaust: 41/Open & 9-/Close
Lobe Separation and Lobe Lift: A special combination designed specifically to run with the 5.7L engine. This is from HHP website.

Oh sorry i really didnt see the first dam mod, a com cam stage 1. Honestly i would stick with that, you have stock heads i assume? You really wont see much gain from different cams on stock heads only because you can only go so agressive, i mean yea you might see 20rwhp over the comp cam 1 but is it really worth changing out ur current cam? I say get a good run in and see where you want to go from there, either more spray or throw out the spray and go supercharger. It's really up to you man im just throwing out suggestions for ya.
