I use the injector wire on #7 - the wire closest to the red clip. That's for the RPM readout, not the window switch, but I'm sure that's all you really need.

Technically thats what the window switch is doing, reading the rpms.

I used a tap that was already in place on #7 injector & it did not seem to work.

The tap was used for a tuner I once tried. I will check the color code.

Not sure - I'm wondering how it knows it's on an individual coil. Every other device I hook up for RPM reading has to be set to 1 cylinder to function correctly. If the ZEX switch is specific to the LX, it's probably hard coded in.

Yes, I want to shift my own gears. The TCM shifts to 3rd, then 4th way too soon.

I am primarily interested in cutting off the juice before I hit the rev limiter if I am too slow on the shift.

I will probably set the rev limiter to 6900 RPM & the window switch to cut out @ 6700.

The window will probably be set @ 3000 - 6700 RPM.

That shouldn't matter if you are only reading 1 coil. On the old distributor coils it mattered as the coil was firing all 6-8 cylinders.

I'll get all this checked out tomorrow.
