    ProChargum Pump Gas Dyno

Well, it was 96 degrees at DiabloSport today, but Johan was willing so we put the ProChargum on the dyno with pump gas, reduced timing and an air filter.

Here's a shot of the air filter:

No wisecracks about the jig saw cut, OK?

    Here is the first pull:

That yielded 736 RWHP / 738 RWTQ at 12.67 psi, which I thought wasn't bad, given the conditions and seeing that it was a bit rich.

So we fiddled with it and did another pull. Lopez is checking belt clearance against the intake elbow under boost on this one--brave crew chief at work:

Did you hear that rpm modulation at the end? That wasn't Johan pedalling it...that was the torque converter taking a dump. The clutches apparently gave up the ghost. This motor seems to be a touch hard on torque converters. I don't think I'll be able to sell this one, huh?

Here's what it looked like on the graph:

I gotta tell ya, fellas...BillyBob is proud of that dang chart. It takes a special build indeed to make a chart like that!

Talk about a double nut sack!

    Whoowee!

I'm glad I have a Paramount Performance torque converter enroute for install this week.

I'm also glad the the pulleys seem to all be spinning properly and Lopez knows how to change a T/C on that thing blindfolded with one arm behind his back.

We should be ship-shape by Ohio next week...doon't you worry about that.

Hey, how about that one good pull on pump gas? Zowie, huh?

What were the intake air temps and how much total timing did you run...

I just got 730 RWHP on a Challenger with a 426 and "only" 9psi...but this was a big ole liquid to air intercooler...and with the fans on it, I only had 110 degree intake temps...

93 octane and 20 degrees on the big end...no knock...

This was a Vortech V7 on the 6-rib belt...and it was a 6-speed whereas you are auto...and you did it at alot lower rpm too...kudos...F1R is pretty darn sweet...

Nothing knockin' and the timing was backed off to 17 degrees.

The motor sounded real good. The T/C...not so much.

The dyno sorta verifed what I was feeling on the street this past weekend...I knew I still had a lot under the hood, even with the air filter choking things down and timing pulled back.

    ProChargum 4th of July Parade

736 RWHP rounds up to what at the crank? 865 with a 15% driveline loss? That ought to be a handful on a road course, huh?

Gosh by Golly! I've always wanted a one-off bad to the bone unit!

Didn't you already do that for Scottie Boy?

Intake temps started at 110 or so and jumped to 120-122 during the pull. Timing was set at 17 degrees. I'm not sure whether the IAT sensor pulled any timing during the run, I forgot to ask Johan about that.

Yea, but I think Scott has been busy with a pen and a dyno sheet.

Great numbers Lou. We all know how hot and humid it has been down here.

Are you going to be able to hit PBIR with the new converter before you go to Ohio?

Bill is trying to get the new T/C prototype to me by Thursday and Lopez is going to try to get me out to PBIR Friday night.

I sure would like to get a few more runs under my belt before staring down the big dogs at the Ohio meet. Jeez!

    I can handle the pressure.
What the hell...I've been designing your new converter for months now, guess it's time to deliver.
Whew, hope to have it to Lopez Thursday afternoon.
That way you can give it a try before LX & Beyond.

Wow...you have always been a GREAT tester, with that power, we will soon see.
Damn, oh well, if it works for you......that is the new supercharger converter isn't it.

What psi could you get through that filter... But it's better than the 6 psi I run for my filtered street tune
