    9hp from a oil additive???#^!^$#&(

I just observed a Dodge Charger on a Dino get 9hp and 15fptq from some oil additive! No BS it was on, "Horse Power TV" on Spike Network 8/3/2008. They were testing various low cost methods for busting horse power and seeing how they compared with manufactures claims. A best HP bang for your buck so to spear.
Anyway, EXTREME OIL BOOSTER, was found to give a SRT8 a 9hp increase. The guys on the show were as confused as I was when the results came in. I am getting a case of this stuff as we speak.
2006 Dodge Charger R/T, SRT8 Ram Air Airaid CAI, 85mm T-Body, 185 T-Stat, Blinker, NOESP, Cabin Air Filter, SRT8 Spoiler, SRT8 Wheels, & Hood, BT Oil Catch Can, BT Under Hood & Interior, De-molded, Daytona Grill, Eibach Springs & Shocks/Struts, Cherry Bomb Cat back, Rear Air Diffuser, LED Tails, LED/Halo Project Head Lights, Diablo, Chin Spoiler, D+S Disks, Hawk Brake Pads, SS Brake Lines, & Hood Struts.

I was just watching that myself. I wonder if that much of a gain is real.

Anyone want to start the list of things that can cause a small variance like that?

    Never mind the list...

Hot Rod Magazine blew a Magnum baseline dyno and mistakenly gave an intake a huge increase in power when in fact their 'stock' runs were 20+ hp low for some reason. Anyone who had ever dyno'd an LX knew it, but HR didn't have the background in the individual platform to know the difference.

I'd want to see their test methodology and controls before I believed any mystical fluid makes power that isn't a part of the combustion process. Then I'd want to see what the tradeoff was... i.e. do you get more power at the expense of [insert ugly surprise here]. A dyno run is not a long term test.

Here's the link. I used this on my last oil change with Royal Purple oil. My engine seems to run a little smoother and a little better throttle response also. It's probably just all in my head though!!!

I am on my way to pick up a case. I had to see it with my own eyes but the dino doesn't lie. 9hp is a big boost as far as I am concerned. My last K&N FIPK was less then that. (on a Ford)
If I had a shop I would sell the stuff (along with Seafoam and Auto RX)

As far as I am concerned all additives are snake oil. I believe in seafoam through the brake booster and Auto RX for cleaning. I can see those results with the naked eye. Now I believe in this stuff as well.

Of course.... you could ask the guy that invented the formula.... he's a member of LXF!

Steve Anderson is the chemical engineer for this product.... he goes by 700hp here.

Many of us in TX know him well.....

I hope he chimes in then. I do not want to put another Slick 50 or Duralube type product in my car. That stuff will ruin a motor.
Anyway, I am going to give the stuff a shot.

A TV show equals reality? If had known that I'd have invested in phasers and Orion slave girls long ago.

OK so if real people with some experience and brains are using it (and I count Bo in that list), whats the scoop?

If you are already using Mobil1 or another high duty-cycle synthetic, which already exceeds the mfr's specs, why should you go further overboard? Whats the real-world benefit to a motor that is anally maintained?

See what I am getting at? If it is different, how does the difference matter?

LOL..... I AM a real person... but as far as experience and brains... that is another story altogether!

I have never had the opportunity to discuss the product with Steve, as we are usually in the middle of some type of drag racing discussion at the track. I think that a few of the Space City guys know about the product, as they spend more time with Steve.... My time with the SCLX crew has been limited since my move to Austin last year.

Maybe someone else can chime in....

...and Matt.... I follow your logic 100%. I'm not endorsing the product, as I personally have never tried it. Of course, since I know Steve.... I won't write it off as "snake oil" either.

    FWIW,
