DVMMC Organizational Announcement

Sorry, I had some interuptions so it took me a little longer to put this together than I had thought it would...

We had a very productive meeting yesterday. We ironed out a number of positions of responsibility people are going to take on, how our M&G’s will be organized, and projects we are going to tackle in order to get a solid foundation for the club so that it will hopefully continue on for years to come.

Organizational Structure:

Our group is going to be run by a leadership council (positions will be laid out a little later on) and a president. Current council positions were filled on a volunteer basis. How future vacancies are filled will be decided on by the current council when we get together to again to write our charter. Ground work will also be laid out for how to select a new president so that when the day comes when I go out and buy a Kia Rondo the group isn’t left in disarray. If anyone here actually thinks I would actually drive one of those…well, that’s it you’re banned for life from all DVMMC functions.

Current Council Positions:

President – Me (moonstreaker)
The president primary responsibility will be to oversee the council and to help council members fulfill their specific duties when applicable.

Web Administrator(s) – Mike (SVT2MagnunmRT) & Myself (mostly Mike)
Having a Web Admin means we will have our own site. When our site goes live the Admin(s) will be responsible for managing all things related to it’s operation and upkeep.

Car Show Planner – Claude (claude9039u)
This person will not be responsible for organizing an entire event by themselves. This person will be responsible for coordinating any DVMMC run car show(s). Anyone who volunteers to assist in planning a particular show will report directly to this person.

Track Event Planner – Bryan (ToastyCG)
Responsibility for this position is currently gathering information on upcoming track events in our area. If the DVMMC is to decide to organize our own track even(s) the coordination effort will fall under this individual’s authority. Anyone who volunteers to assist in planning a particular track event will report directly to this person.

Communications Director – Me (for the time being)
This individual will be responsible for notifying the club’s members of upcoming events.

Club Promotions/Designer – Me
This person will be responsible for designing club handouts, flyers for event (working with show/track planner), business cards, promo items (hats, t-shirts, etc), graphics for website.

General Council Member(s) – (yet to be determined)
This person or persons will serve to assist council members with a specific position or positions. The number of General council will be determined so that the entire council has a set number of members (yet to be determined).

All council members' votes will carry equal weight when conditions that require a vote arise.

There will be one additional council position in the future. We are not yet at the point where it is required. When we reached that point the position will be announced, and at that point members will be able volunteer for the position.

Membership:

In the not too distant future we will have two tiers of membership. We will have paying members & non-paying members. Non-paying members will not have access to a few features on our upcoming website. Much like how certain areas of LXF our restricted to supporting members. Non-paying members will also not receive any discounts that may be offered by DVMMC sponsors. All other aspects of memberships will be equal. Members will be eligible to upgrade their status at any time. Paid membership will be good for one year from the date of payment (approx $20/yr). Membership dues will go toward operational expenses including; but not limited to, domain & hosting fees, cost of printing/designing promotional items, show/track event expenses. This will not start until after we have DVMMC.com up and fully operational, so that people can enjoy the full benefits of their membership. Everyone listed on our current club roster will be directed to go to the site and sign up once it is live.

The club will only carry funds for operational purposes. All excess funds will be donated to a charity or charities that have yet to be determined. This club is a non-profit venture for the sole purpose of promoting the interests of car enthusiast.

Website:

Our website will be www.DVMMC.com (no it’s not live yet, so don’t waste your time). People who are not members of DVMMC will be able to view the front page, calendar, member’s rides page, and our mission statement. Members will be able to access our bulletin board, swap meet & links to sponsor discounts. Level of access for members will be determined by their level of membership.

M&G’s and Cruise night(s):

M&G’s will occur on the 1st Saturday of the month. Each month a different member will be responsible for organizing a M&G. The organizer will be responsible for choosing a location and coordinating the volunteer effort of DVMMC members to provide everything that may be required for the M&G. Who will be hosting what month will posted as soon as the current volunteers have decided.

Cruise Night will occur on the 3rd Wednesday of ever month. Mike (SVT2MagnumRT) is currently in the process of scouting a location. Cruise night will take place at the same location every month.

Closing thoughts…

There will be much more to come as things start to roll along, so keep an eye out for updates. We’ve got to crawl a little before we start running.

As always, everyone is encouraged to participate in our on going development. If you have any ideas please bring them to my attention or to one of the other council members. Anyone wishing to join the council please contact me.

sounds like a real club and i will be more than happy to help out in any way. Sorry i have not been around, but from september to december i have to work as much as possible. Im here now and i would like to be a part in this club. Bill, let me know how i can help.

I am not sure if Bill is still around or even alive. I hope so we are worried for him. At this time I say DVMMC is a dead club with nothing to offer. The only people that post here anymore are those of us from PAMOPARGROUP. This is an invite to all those that are still stinging along on this forum to come on over to www.PAMOPARGROUP.com and check us out.
