Coming around to Spring

Hey guys, been an incredibly lousy winter, almost sold the maggie twice. In any event I'm raring to go for this year's cruise and race season. I say cruise and race because for all intensive purposes I am done with car shows. I want to enjoy my car this summer rather than obsessing over it. DOn't get me wrong it'll be waxed and look good. But I'm not in all of this for the Trophies, I'm in it for the knowledge and the fun!

In any event, anyone heading out for the Spring Fling? Anyone from our crew doing the Maple Grove NMCA race?

As for our little club, it doesn't matter if it dies or doesn't, its there for us to get together and have fun. I don't do pressure tactics, and to be quite honest I was never much of a businessman ( remember full car clubs are BUSINESSES at thier heart), and I have had little or no time for anything but the kids, my dad, staying afloat and working my two jobs. It comes down to this, once the kids are more trekkable I'll make all kinds of major events, but the local car shows ( unless LX only) are just not for me. I think this year I'm just going to concentrate on bracket racing.

In any event, I just reread Claude's post and it got me to thinking. Anyone still out there?

Still here I am 90 % sure that I'm doing the NMCA race as well as trying to hit as many of the e-town shows as possible. The get together's that we have had were great. It was a chance for everyone to go and relax with their families. I 'm not real big on doing car shows either so the races are where you will most likely find me.

i'll go and watch a few... but, i'm into the shows with the b-body...

Well guys I'm back around here and I enjoy racing more then shows. I like to see people put money into lowering their 1/4 mile times then pinstripes and neon lights. BUT I enjoy shows aswell. TOO bad I have a SXT, damn V-6, LOL. But I'll try to make it out to Maple Grove , I have never been there. When is "Spring Fling? Lets start a thread and see if we can get some more people to tag along. I am enjoying hearing the word "SPRING" means its getting closer, LOL.

the first HHP race @ E-town is March 14th. You should come and run your car even if it is a V6. Ron won the Frozen race in Nov. with his Magnum .

Glad to hear I'll be racing with some of you. Its not that I don't like the car shows, they just tend to be very tedious, and there are only so many mods you can talk about. The family events are what I'm here for mainly, I just don't think we have to go so gusto, if I invite all of you to my house, it may be a little more out of my pocket, but at least there is little planning incolved and it can be last minute if necessary. Everyone is busy I'm sure so lets try to make this a FUN club not too serious of a club. I propose the first M&G in March/April at my house. Which date is cool with everyone? Later March may be warmer.

Hey SVT2, sorry don't remember your real name if I ever knew it, LOL , That sounds great and extremely nice of you to open your house to us. start a new thread in the near future and go from there as for a date and time and stuff.

Hey Sinistr, i'm not afraid to run my SXT after all I do have a K&N intake ain't that worth 50 - 60 HP, LOL. BUT it sounds great, I'll try really hard to get there and run. I would like to see what it runs anyway just I know I won't be impressed, owell.

Also still here. I do not favor the racing side of the house, I mainly look forward to the occational Meet where I can take in the surroundings and enjoy the "Mass Appeal" of the environment these events bring on. I do not feel it needs to bore than a bunch of people enjoying their cars, not the whole pressure of a business organization. I did get a chance to meet some fellow LX'rs in Delaware at the Concord Mall over the winter, it was nice to see a grouping in the dull months.

Anyway,... the Mag looks quite different now with the Shaker, Flares, Stripes and new Tires. But alas I have found my financial limit - at least for a while.

Looking forward to the spring, and all that it will bring.

Hey guys I am still here. Been reading all the drama with that other thread the past week or so and it was very annoying. Why pressure peolpe to give or do more? This is a club for fun. I am glad that everything seems to have worked out.

I will hopefully be able to make some events this year, I am taking a job change with less weekends and much better hours (retail Rx to long term care). QOL is what it comes down to. I also only have 2 weddings this year, not the 7 of last year. So I am definitely looking forward to enjoying myself this year.

I am down for both the racing and M&Gs. I can't wait for the weather to break and the cinders to leave the road.

It seems like we are all on the right track now. No pressure, have fun , hang out either at the track or a meet when wer can and enjoy our QOL ! (Quality of Life). I likes that phrase , its a way to live !
