    Any reviews...Toyo Proxes 4's

The time for new tires has arrived....

I've decided I want an all-season as I can't be bothered with the expense and time to swap wheels and/or tires for the winter season.

I shopped around and found a fairly good local deal ($185/ea) on the 275/40/20's installed but hesitated for a second before I told the guy to order them.

I've heard some great and not so great reviews for the Proxes 4 but was hoping on some first hand local enthusiast input before I pulled the trigger.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. No Pilot Sport 2 recomendations, please.
Not to mention, some interaction here might help wake this forum from the dead.
Hope everyone is having a great summer.
    Thanks,
    Mike

Ive had my Vipers (20x9) wrapped in 275/40 Toyo Proxes4 for about 10k miles. Cant complain one bit.. Very good in the rain also, and we get a lot of that down here.

I have them for at least 6 months and you would think they are brand new. I drive 100 miles a day and I can tell you they are a great tire I have no complaint at all!

I have Toyo Proxes 4's 275/40/20 rear 255/45/20 front very good tires not bad in a little bit of snow great in the wet, but way better in the cold and forget about snow (F1's) than the F1's were.

They were like $700.00 installed about 8 months ago Creamery tire in Skippack, PA.

I love my Toyo's, light years better than the F1's.

Another fan here (though not local - sorry).

These are really great tires - but I do miss being able to slide the rear end around like I could on the RSA's. These things just grab.

They wear great, wet traction is great (comparatively), the only drawback is the price, but $185 each is not bad.

I have Toyo Proxes 4 275/40/20's at all 4 corners and love them. Haven't had a chance to drive them in snow or slush, but they are excellent in the rain.

Sounds like you got yourself a pretty good price there.

Thanks for the link and the review.
East Coast Tire has the 275/40/20 for $159 shipping included, which is the best on-line price I've seen.

At $185/installed, it's a few dollars more per tire but I think I'll give the local guy the business.

Thanks for the reviews gents, I'm making the call tomorrow.

It'll give me a day or two to snuff out what little life the current F1's have left.
    Thanks all,
    Mike

I love them. But for me, I still use a dedicated snow tire. I got sideways in the snow with the Proxes 4's on the way to spring festival this past March.

I know what you mean, been there, done that also. I still have flash backs when I cross a certain bridge.
At this point in my life, I could walk to work if I had to though. Beyond the snow, I'm just not comfortable driving a summer tire in temperatures below 40f, snow or not.

If the white stuff is a definite in the forecast, I'm taking the wife's truck regardless, because she's not going anywhere.

And if you were on the RSA's you would have been spinning, never mind sideways. I run the Proxes 4's too, and love them. But 275's in the snow is just asking for it anyway. Currently I have my stock wheels (one set anyway) with RSA's on, and I floored it off a light this afternoon and smoked the tires through first, well in to second. The Proxes 4's are very tough to do that with.

The RSA's are crap in the rain. The Proxes 4's are great.

Do the same rules apply for AWD Magnums as far as Tire size goes??? I know the rims have special sizing but do the tires lay in the wheel wells the same. I think there might be some additional hieght but I need to know if the width/depth is the same.
