I take it instead on cutting the lip to mount them, he tried using a heat gun to reshape it and it burnt or melted? Sorry for the mishap.

Bing Bing we have a winner!! LOL. I was bending the lip in to the correct shape, (plastic was very bendable) When i bumped the heat gun off the tool box, so I let go of the lip to try to ctach the heat gun, witch I missed and it fell to the floor and broke. anyways the lip stratched about 6" and made about a 180 degree turn from the end I was still holding.So I managed to wreck to things at once. So I went over to the neighbors and started to drink. And a wise man told me tonight (the Neighbor) Hey Dumb A$$ why try to make something fit, buy the correct one the first time!! Ok mopower here I come.
