Brainerd can't be the closest, is it? I've been up there once as a little kid, but never as a driver.
It would be nice not to have to make a day trip just to get up there.

Here you go! From the results, it looks like you only have 3 which includes Brainerd.

You're welcome! The website might be useful for someone else. Hey, you can always move out here to Cali where we have quite a few of them!

Most people I know who drag race either go to Rock Falls in WI or Cedar Falls in IA.
Grove Creek is the closest, but a lot of people don't like the 1/8th mile.
You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture, just get people to stop reading them.
^^Thanks, Why are there no drag strips around here? Seems like the state must condone street racing or something.

NIMBY.
That is why there are none closer.
You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture, just get people to stop reading them.
And that's the attitude that promotes street racing (I know that's not your opinion). You can't yell at a bunch of kids for street racing when there's no place to do it.

That isn't a valid reason for street racing. There are no valid reasons.
Grove Creek is only about an hour away, as is Rock Falls.
You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture, just get people to stop reading them.
Of course there is no valid reason, there's not a real vaild reason for a lot of things people do. But when you have outlets available, people will use them.
And one other thing... It's not like street racing is a new thing. It's been happening since the first time two young men were given the keys to their dads cars.

Unfortunately most cities look down on dragstrips, there was a group of guys looking to open a 1/4 mile dragstrip within 30 minutes of downtown. They tried for almost 3 years, had several places where they could buy the land to do it, but in the end all of the cities voted the idea down.
I love to drag race myself, and if your looking for a decently close place with a 1/4 mile strip your pretty much stuck with Rock Falls in Wisconsin.
