I got tear gassed tonight

ahh, good times!

I was taking pictures of the protestors (well actually the anarchists) when they decided that when the cops in full riot gear told them to leave the middle of the street for about 15 minutes, they had enough. Me and a news photographer I was standing got gassed pretty good. I've attached a link to my picasa album for your view pleasure. The video of me being gassed is the last item in the September 2nd folder.

Oh, and for those confused. I live in Downtown Saint Paul - home of the 2008 RNC.

The cops were doing their job (a good one at that). After yesterday's destruction, they were not taking any $#!t. I just didn't think I would get the gas, oh well - I guess I can cross it off my bucket list

I dont think so, I heard they had about 60 or so arrests during the DNC, we've had over 300 and we are on day 2. I'm also pretty sure no one got gassed at the DNC.

Yeah, yesterday when some of the cops all dolled up in their riot gear walked by me I told them to bust some heads!

oh, and the guys doing the damage and causing trouble have no party affiliation. Their chat was "F*** Obama, F*** McCain, F***'em all, they're all the same!"

They are just here to cause trouble and break the law I doubt any of them even vote.

you know what its not that I dont trust them. I hate Obama I just dont like some of the views as McCain. I have a hard time deciding which to go with. I am pro choice but I like my 2nd amendment. I wish weed was legal but am in favor of cracking down on other drugs. I am what you call in the middle. On a lot of subjects I dont want abortions going on to late Obama pretty much would allow full term abortions. I dont feel we should be in Iraq but that is a tough subject one that I dont think anyone has an answer for. I dont believe in god so church and state is a no brainer to me, I dont think it should even be brought up in politics. Neither one of them have an answer to energy crisis and wont do anything IMO to fix it.

Now back to the subject at hand... Anyone else ever been gassed before? I would assume just about all of the military guys will say yes to that one.

I was impressed that I didn't puke! I was on my roller blades (to scoot around town faster) and when I was choking on the tear gas a cop came up behind me and pushed me - that sent me flying down the sidewalk. I quickly stopped because they were busy tear gassing the crowd in front of me, and I decided I didn't like the taste or smell of the gas they were using. I should find out what brand they are using so I know to stay away from that product
