I think I want to do the Flowmaster 40 series for my 3.5. To be sure I would need to the 2 1/4" inlet/outlet offsets? I think I am correct on this but I thought I read somewhere about 2 1/2", but I think that is wrong.
My 2nd question is in regards to the different tips...I want to do a single reso delete (don't necessarily need dual conversion as all I am looking for is sound) do the tips impact the sound at all or is it just the "look" each individual is going for?
Also and additional question that just came to me, again I just read through them quick now but I thought I saw that you did a single pipe replacement but I didn't see it on your page, did you make it? Is it still available and if so, at what $$$?

Yes, the tips can impact the sound.
I can make single kits, the normal tip I make them from is on back order but I can use the DW4 tips that come on the dual conversion kits for just under or just over $100 depending on which bend you want.

thanks for the previous answers to my questions. Been busy with work so this is my first chance to get back at you.
in terms of getting as close to a "deep, american musclecar" sound as possible would the DW$ tip you mentioned help with that or would there be a different tip you would recommend? Also would doing dual exhaust bring me close to what I am looking for or would it be irrelevant? Hopefully with your answers I can finalize my decision and actually place an order.
The V-6 sound is very distinctive, the tip style is not going to change this much at all nor will splitting it to both side. The flowmaster muffler will give a deeper tone then the stock or a magnaflow style.
I am sitting on the $$$ to do my exhaust but I have one last question... I am going to do the Flowmaster 40 series and am just deciding between going single pipe reso delete (as you mentioned in a previous response to me) or dual with the glasspacks. In your honest opinion, will doing the dual glaspacks impact sound/performance at all? Thanks again for all your help
It won't impact the performance, dual vs. the single eliminator kit, it will impact the sound. The glasspacks will make it much quieter.
As one who has a v-6 3.5 with Bob's fine work I'll toss in a couple comments.
The dealer had installed a "butchered" full dual (not using a Y or H) with just rear mufflers (magnaflow) and it was very loud, and drone-y at freeway speeds. Bob put on the glasspacks, an H pipe, and my decision on new magnaflow rear mufflers.
The car still has a bit of rumble at startup and idle, but not excessive. The drone is gone. The H crossover increased performance over the old straight pipes significantly. There is still a great sound when you punch it, but nice and clean at freeway speeds. The glasspacks will dramatically tone the car down (in my mind it's a good thing) But, the old system for it's faults, sounded much meaner (from the loudness) and was great around town, the freeway drone was way too much however.

I have the Flow 40 on my V6 when I put it on I left the reso on and it did not sound a whole lot different - then I cut off the reso and went with a straight pipe + tip - had that for about a week then the drone drove me nuts so I got an aftermarket reso -- sounds good now -- does have a bit of drone but I have gotten used to it -- sounds like the BB's glasspacks really get ride of drone all together so you might want to look into 1 of those!

I have the blastin bobs 10db dual conversion with an 18inch case Magnaflow muffler and I get complimented on how good it sounds all the time very nice deep tone at idle....
I did add the JBA shorties since then and the rumble is even better now
