    Exhaust tips. Best sound.

Hi Bob! I want to change my stock tips on my 2005 300C 5.7. What tips can you recommend for stock exhaust that can change the sound of exhaust to make it deeper and louder?

You'll need to replace more than the tips to give a deeper, louder sound.

Fred is 100% correct, just putting on different tips won't change the sound at all, it will only change the look and that's it.

You will need to address your actual exhaust system to get any type of change in sound.

It would require more room for a longer larger tip to get any sound change, you only have about 5" to work with.

These resonator delete kits sound great. I have the rolled tip (non-glass packed) kit on my '06 300c SRT8. It is just enough rumble at start up and a great sound under aggressive throttle. You get a little bit of reverberation at certain RPM levels, but who cares, it is a V8 and is supposed to grumble! If someone wants to hear a before and after send me an email and I will forward it to you (it is a small video with a camera behind the car). Love these pipes, great bang for the buck!!!!

Hello so I did a quick cheap mod to my exhaust to my 2012 Charger RT. I just cut off the reso's and mufflers and straight piped it. The sound of the car can get pretty annoying at times as you can imagine. Any suggustion to what I can install to not lose the aggressive sound but not have the annoying humming sounds the car makes especially while I'm casualty driving around the city without installing a catback system. I live in Seattle so I deal with constant up and down hill.

You took off both the front mufflers and the rear resonators?

Yes I starting up with just the rear mufflers off and well didn't sound good at all so decided to cut the rest off. I've look into the IMCO 18 inch glass packs but really dont know how well they would do.

Bigal, I went through three "versions" of exhausts on my Charger, ended up very happy with a full Magnaflow system. Total costs of time , parts and labor were a lot more than if I had just gone with the system in the first place.
There are tons of videos and threads here already with all kinds of systems, I highly reccommend you do some research and go with a full system. You'll be happier with it, and save money in the long run. Bob's has several proven systems for these cars, as do other mfr's.

I'm looking into getting some exhaust tips, but not sure what size to get. I have an 06' Charger R/T. Should I get the 2.25 or 2.5 inlet diameter?

I have the 7db reso delete on my RT and I absolutely love it. It has a good sound, not crazy loud, and it has very little drone. Maybe look at a set of resonated tips or something. That way you reduce the drone a little.
