That's a really informative Video. For those of us that have high flow cats, mine are made of a 300 substrate, I'm assuming that the burn off properties would be less efficient. However the added flow is more important to us...

wow, that was an awesome video.
i find many of the you tube videos posted i don't watch until the end but this one interested me so much i had to watch the whole thing.
very nice and super informative. hard to believe how fast a cat actually works and how efficient it can be.
someone should invent the pre-heater for them to make them more efficient. a plug and play device like a block heater.
thanks for posting this link up it's very cool.
    cheers

Cool link, thanks for posting. I wonder how they determine the 6 mile range for the cat warm up though?

Is that turn the key and just start driving? At what air temp? I'm just curious about this come winter time when it is 20* out, a car sits for 5-8 minutes idling then drives 5-10 miles. Is the cat warmed up and working or not? Very informative either way but a bit more info would be nice.

    Excellent video! Thanks for posting!

There is no magic here folks- no conspiracy to make money, and no secret agenda to sell precious metals. It does what it claims, the science behind it is clear and concise.

Anyone who was a child in the late 70's and in their 40's today can attest to the difference in urban air pollution, from then, to today in almost any major city worldwide.

As Simon said it, if you're planning to use aftermarket hi-flow cats, it's best to do some research in order to match the power, and thermal output (EGT's) of your build. Too much heat will destroy the catalyst if it's not rated for a given operating temperature. That's why a lot of folks have bee put off by it, so it seems, and choose to do away with them altogether.

Mismatched application may be the reason why some A/M cat suppliers are not honoring the warranties.

they work once the engine reaches temp, it takes about that far to reach normal operating temp when started and put right into drive at normal speeds. So in the case of ideling they are warm much sooner in the drive because the engine is already warm too. High flow cats are same materials just larger passage ways for gases to go through and therfore less surface area for the break dowm of gases to happen, thats why cars with hugh flow cats can make your eyes water if they stand on it cuz there is still unburned fuel coming out in a much larger quantety.

you can learn something new every day if you arent carefull by the way. lol

wow epic fail. sorry but cars still produce dangerous toxic gasses. people still use their cars to kill themselves. and if the gas wasn't toxic then we wouldn't have "global warming"
