This would be a blast to drive over...

The Millau Viaduct is part of the new E11 expressway connecting Paris and Barcelona
and features the highest bridge piers ever constructed.. The tallest is 240 metres (787 feet) high and the overall height is an
impressive 336 metres (1102 feet), making this the highest bridge in the world. It's taller than the Eiffel Tower.

Interestingly, the Millau Viaduct is not straight. Why? It's because a straight road could induce a floating sensation as you drive across it.. So, a slight curve remedies that feeling. The curve is 20km in range. Moreover, the road has a light incline of 3% to improve the visibility and reassure the driver. An amazing engineering feat!

Slide the picture to the right left to see the whole bridge..
    What a view - 787 feet high!

i watched the building of that bridge on TV. it was amazing. a large majority of the sections were built on land and these crazy inverted feet on the pillars walked the bridge farther out over the span piece by piece.

The first thing that came to my mind is suicidal jumpers. Living here by the Golden Gate bridge it's normal. I looked at vidoes and it looks like they took care of that with the high curvy fence. Incredible.

Top Gear had featured this bridge in it's season opener a few weeks ago... sick, piece of engineering.... engineered by the Brits.

Wonder what the bridge cost to build and maintain over its lifespan and what it was designed to save... lives? Time? Fuel? Local traffic disruption?

I bet the twisty road they replaced was alot more fun

Is there a " Le BUMP" sign between the 2nd and 3rd uprights?

the pisser of all this is it makes a beautiful continuous highway section for driving. Anyone ever drive in France? Cause it's boring as hell with the way they enforce the traffic laws; this is an engineering marvel designed to taunt drivers.
