Quick photo shoot with thumpertls and his custom painted Magnum

Some of you may have seen the thread thumpertls created about the paint work he did on his Magnum. Well, since we both live in the same small town, we met up and got a few pics of the cars together. For me, this was the first time in over 2 weeks my car has left my driveway and I actually managed to make it to the other side of town w/o getting pulled over (although I HAVE to go passed the police dept to leave my neighorhood and 2 cop cars were coming around the corner into the PD as I was waiting to turn onto Main and they just looked at me like they wanted to pull me over...)

Some of these shots are processed as HDR...

They were talking rain all day - it looked gloomy but it wasn't raining. We met up in a parking lot and as I was waiting for Joe to show up, as soon as I saw him coming down the road, it started to rain...

If it hadn't rained out and he hadn't noticed a piece of his roof rack missing, probably would have had a few more shots from today.

Its fnny, that grocery store isn't far from my house and I drive past that mural almost every day and I totally forgot it was there. Whats even funnier is that in 4th or 5th grade, I was FORCED into helping paint it because of bad grades - those with a C average and lower had to help paint it to gain enough credit to pass to the next grade... (perhaps this is why I forgot it was there?)

I'm glad I got shots of that mural when I did - that grocery store sold 2 months ago - new management just repainted that wall back to the boring color of the rest of the building. The mural was a pictorial of my town's early years when river, rail and horse where the only way to get around. It was painted when I was 11 and I was one of a handful of kids who got to help paint it.
