    Finally My First Mod.

Ok so let me tell you the story about this. As you guys remember I asked last week how to take the moldings off the doors. So I took everyones advice into it. I waited it til was a hot day out which was last saturday. 91 deg and HUMID not to mention they were repaving my street so I got the heat going from the tar as well. I washed the car. Break out the WD-40. Sprayed my driver door down. Take the fishing wire and proceed to slowly remove the molding off. There was still adhesive left over, so I use my thumb, some WD-40, and microfiber cloth and start to remove the excess off. 2 hrs later I still have adhesive on the same door and I quit cause my thumb cant handle it.

So this saturday after driving around for a week, I decide to go at it again. Taking in other people's advice now. I go out and buy a heat gun, some goo gone and microfiber clothes. I washed the car again and proceed on my mission. So I heat up the driver door (remind you its 91 degrees today too and HUMID). Put goo gone on the microfiber and start going at it. After about 20 minutes my dad comes out and he starts to laugh at me and says in spanish of course " There HAS got to be a easier way of doing this."

So he goes into our garage, comes back with a gallon of gas and a plastic spatula that he just bought to do the dry wall at his job. He puts the gas on the microfiber rubs the adhesive and uses the spatula to take the extra adhesive off. 5 Minutes later he is done. I'm freaking amazed. SOOOOO I heat up the molding in the back door and we slowly take it off with the spatula. Again with the gas and cloth and spatula take off the extra adhesive. MIND YOU there is no ghosting with the adhesive left over. Well below is the MOD. Thats my dad cleaning up the last bit of adhesive off the door.

I would like to thank everyone for giving me advice on how to do this. If it wasnt for you I wouldnt have worked up the courage to even try it.

I spent 20 on the heat gun, 2 on goo gone, 6 on microber cloth. So cheap mod if I do say so myself.

    Looks great!!

My thumb needed some rest after I removed mine too! The thumb seemed to be the best tool for removing the old adhesive. I'm glad you found a better system.

Yep, that's what my thumb looked like too after taking the strips off the first Magnum.

If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?

Really looks Sweet Jose, nice mod. Sounds like a lot of effort but well worth it.
