A few of us attended last year and it was fun trip.

Welcome to the 2008 Moparts New England Summer Cruise.

The date is Saturday June 7, 2008 and we’ll be meeting from 8:00am to 9:00am in Newburyport, MA. Raindate is Sunday June 8th.

Any vehicle of the Mopar family is welcome. Feel free to copy this thread to other Mopar sites as we wish to get a good variety of Mopar gene pool together. Bring friends, family, pets, and your positive Mopar vibes. Thanks for your support and enthusiasm!

The itinerary is as follows:

1.) 8:00am to 9:00am: MEET at the ("Harbor Park"?) at the intersection of Merrimac Street and Green Street facing the harbor. This is 0.2mi east of Route 1A on Merrimac Street. I'll try and remember to set up a Moparts sign or hang balloons or something. The Harbor Park is directly behind the white steeple of the colonial Newburyport Church that is on Pleasant Street. Gather, relax and get organized.

2.) 9:00am to 10:00 am: CRUISE south to Cape Ann (28mi, 54min): From Harbor find 1A South. Back on Merrimac Street turn right (S) on State St then left on 1A south. Cruise nearly 13 miles on 1A south through Rowley and Ipswich, then left on 133 South. Cruise 8 miles on 133 through Essex and join route 128 towards Cape Ann for 2.5 miles to traffic circle, take route 127 north (sharp left around circle). Continue onto Cape Ann on route 127 north about 6.5 miles to Halibut Point State Park on left.

3.) 10:00am to 10:30: RELAX at Halibut Point Quarry. State Park Parking is 1/10 mile off route 127. A trail goes through scrub forest to quarry and views of Atlantic. Prepare for Rockport visit: Parking is unreliable so we’ll do a slow loop on the main breakwater.

4.) 10:30 to 10:45am: CRUISE route 127 into Rockport (3mi, 6min). Drive out on main breakwater and loop around turn-around at end, return to main street and back to route 127 South.

5.) 10:45 to 11:45am: CRUISE west to Bedford, MA. (41mi, 57min). From the harbor take Rt.127 south for 3.5 miles to Rt.128 and at second traffic circle get on divided highway Rt.128 south. Continue on 128 S about 20 miles and it merges with I-95 South. Stay on 128/95 another 15 miles take Exit 31B Rt.225 / Rt.4N for Bedford, MA. Follow Rt.225/4 into town, stop for gas on right after Shawsheen Road. From the gas station continue on 225/4 through town 1.4 miles, bear right at fork with Rt.62 and right after that on the left is LUNCH at Dalya’s and Bedford Farms.

6.) Noon to 1:00pm: LUNCH at Dalya’s (781) 275-0700 then ice cream at Bedford Farms, (781) 275-6501: 18 North Rd., Bedford MA 01730.

7.) 1:00pm to 1:15pm: CRUISE to Concord, MA (5mi, 12min) to visit the Minuteman Nat’l Historic Park. From LUNCH turn right out of parking lot, bear right at Y onto Concord Road/Rt. 62. Stay on this into downtown Concord, about 4.2 miles. Turn right onto Lowell Road going west. Go about 1/2 mile, cross Concord River, take next right onto Liberty Street and turn into parking lot on right.

8.) 1:15pm to 2:00pm. RELAX at Minuteman National Historic Park. Take a 0:45min break, check ou the Mansion, stroll down to North Bridge, or hang out.

9.) 2:00pm to 3:00pm: CRUISE to Winchendon, MA (46mi, 62min) From Minuteman Nat’l Park go back to Lowell Road and turn west. Cruise about 5 miles to Carlisle and turn left (west) on Rt.225 towards Acton. Cruise on 225 west until it ends at Rt.119, about 10 miles. Bear right to get on Rt.119 west. Cruise on 119 west through Groton, Townsend, Ashby about 22 miles. After a short causeway over a pond, turn left on Rt.101 south towards Wellville. Cruise 4 miles until 101 ends at Rt.12, and turn right. Cruise 8+ miles on Rt.12 into Winchendon, bear right at Rt.202 and park in the shopping center on your right.

10.) 3:00pm to 3:45pm: RELAX, stretch legs and grab a snack in Winchendon.

11.) 3:45pm to 5:00pm: CRUISE to Mt.Holyoke via Belchertown, MA (54mi, 75 min): Leave Winchendon heading south on Rt.202. Cruise on Rt.202 10miles through Baldwinville to Rt.2 and take it West. Cruise on Rt.2 for 8+ miles west and take exit for Rt.202 South. Cruise on Rt.202 south past Pelham towards Belchertown. After about 22 miles head into Belchertown.
Stay on Rt.202 into B.town, turn west keeping on Rt.202 towards Granby and Holyoke. After about 6.3 miles from the turn in B.town, take a right turn on West Street towards West Hadley and Rt.47. Cruise 3 miles, bear left at the end and turn right on Rt.47 north. In less than 3 miles on Rt.47 bear right onto Old Mountain Road and look for drive entrance up to Mt.Holyoke on right. This is J.A.Skinner State Park (413) 586-0350. Drive to top and park.

12.) 5:00 to 5:30pm: RELAX at the top of Mt. Holyoke. Stretch, walk, chat.

13.) 5:30pm to 6:00pm: CRUISE from Mt.Holyoke to Westfield, MA for BBQ at rbrogle’s house: 108 Mountain View St. , Westfield, MA 01085. Rob will probably lead us there from Mt.Holyoke, but in general: Cruise South 5 miles on 47 and 116 to 202 West. Cruise 3.5 miles on 202 through Holyoke and get on I-91 south. Take I-91 South 2.5 miles to I-90 West. Get off I-90 after 5 miles at exit for Westfield/Rt.202. Go 1.5 miles on 202 south turn west on Rt.20. Go 1.6 miles on Rt.20 west, take 3rd left after Dana Street which cuts through to Western Avenue. Turn right on Western, take 2nd right on Western, take first right and find 108 Mountain View Street. Look for C-bodies and you have the right place.

Updated the first post for the route and schedule. Unfortunately I will be at Atco that weekend. They would like a headcount before June 2nd so they know how many to plan for the BBQ.
