    CoolVanilla,

Everything that I have posted, about bushings that are problematic on the LX, have ben proven to be true. There are 3 primary concerns and you can correct me if I am missing something:

    1. Excess bump steer on the LX. There is a very high percecntage of LX products with excess to wear. Our bump steer bushing fixes bump steer, for OE heights and drop heights. There have been hundreds of them installed.

    2. Rear cradle or xmember bushings allow all LXs to have approx 15mm movement separate from the body. We have shown the pictures of the bushing contacting the body and moving.

    3. And yours and my favorite topic, the front radius rod bushings (LOL). I think we may aggree that some of them tear under aggressive driving, and conpounded with big tires. I think you disaggree with the term I used as (dangerous). I can respect your opinion on this. However, when the strut bush is torn, and the outer steel jacket is bouncing back and forth inside the body cavity, this creates a serious toe change and adds very seriously to the self steering issue that excess bump steer gives you. Considering some of the performance driving that many of the LXs do, this unexpected toe change, which will lead to potentially serious self steering, can get you into trouble. Hopefully we can aggree on this, and aggree to disagree on the "dangerous" terminology that I used.

I was also accused opening and in multiple pms that the LX never had a radius rod (tension arm) bushing problem until Pedders came on the forum. Judigng by the hundreds of emails that I have recieved by poeple that had their tension arms replaced either under warranty or by extended warranty, turns out the bushing is as big a concern in terms of failure as I have mentioned. The issue is that we have educated this great community and they are educating the dealers. Dealers do not look at the bushing on the align rack because it can be challenging to check on the rack. I will tell you, unfortunately, very few alignment techs actually do the pre-checks that need to be done. I will say less than 10% will.
So the fact that so many LX owners have had their tension rods replaced, free, and including the dozens of calls that I have had with service managers all over the country, what we have posted has been educational to this community without a doubt.

    thanks
    mike

If it is anything even remotely related to something you sell or plan to sell, you are better off just posting it i your vendor section.

Mike, let me just say that, yet again, I'm very happy to read your comments and thoughts. IMHO you are THE voice of reason in this storm. As you know, this thread and warning has nothing to do with the validity of Pedders' claims. They're two entirely separate issues, and I appreciate that someone in the Pedders camp sees that. I'm not at all surprised that someone is you.

Eh, you know what they say Nate....

Seems as though CV is just assisting in clearing this up a little bit, as he clearly seems to have been involved in it..... way back when, when he was an admin.

Hmmmmmm it is funny i have been around for a bit seen vendors break rules get warned and do their thing where they should. The "Pedders controversy" seams to come from the Pedders people posting thinking A) They are being picked on or B) they are to good for the rules.

I am not trying to start anything just think it is funny that when someone has a prob with pedders they get stepped on. When you guys (all of you) are held to the rules you post whining about singled out.

Wow... this has gone way too far.

This was a request to everyone that may be under the "Pedders umbrella" (That is, vendors that are fortunate enough to be grouped with the Pedders Vendor or selling/install Pedders parts) to remember that posting things that may be beneficial to YOUR business are required to be in specific forums.

That is IT. There was nothing mentioned as to what you can, or cannot post. No censorship, no deleted/edited posts. Just keep the posts to the appropriate places.

If you wish to become your own Supporting vendor, with rights to post/moderate your own vendor sub-forum, you are welcome to contact the staff and get that worked out. Even then, posting things/suggestions that may be boosting your own sales will be held to the same standards and rules.

I do not think this thread has gone too far. The Mods have allowed many posts to go beyond obscene. This thread, however, has bee civil.

It is challenging sometimes for me to deal with 15 different forums that I post. This is the most restrictive forum that I participate in. But we are fine dealing with the rules. It is just hard sometimes to know what all of them are. Case in point, Matt moved an informational thread that I posted on a new upper control arm assembly that is coming. I made no mention of price or pre ordering, things like that. But Matt reminded me that I was breaking the rules and moved the thread. I trust Matts judgement, and if I am in error, then I apologize.

The moderator did not have to be so demonstrative over the claim. But it is what it is. As far as I know, this was the first time Rob did a post like this. I think I have done it 3 times this year. Several I have emailed Matt on to see if it was OK.

This was the post in question
    http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/...ad.php?t=93691

I will agree that it did involve info about a Pedders part at the bottom, so I have edited it here to meet the rules as i was posting it for informational purposes so that people would check their cars. If they decided to buy a replacement part from me, then great, if they bought from another Pedders dealer, then great, if they replaced with with OEM parts again or a competitors part, great. As long as they looked at their car, with a little bit of education and knowledge about what they were looking at.

Most people do not frequent the vendor section of the forums unless they are actively looking to buy something, so why is it so wrong to post this edited thread in the suspension section?
Stock LX Radius Rod Bushing Video 11/15/08

The only time that i mention money or buying anything is when i mention about a camera that i considered buying.

With that said, i did not start the first response because my thread was deemed inappropriate, it was the manner that it was done in, and the lack of respect that it offered to myself, and all of the people that sell Pedders products and services.

When you look at the main forum this is what you read.

I really don't want to be drawn in a war of words or semantics, but Rob why do you keep referencing things about the post that the rules do not speak too? Things like "information" and "money"? Do you understand that wether or not you mention such things is irrellevent?

Also regarding the comment that this may or may not be Rob's first issue... Pedders in general has a responsibility to educate ALL of their representatives. A warning to one is a warning to all as far as these boards are concerned.

Hope that helps clarify a bit.

I've also been under the apparent misunderstanding that you are not a admin/moderator any longer.

I would appreciate it if you would remove yourself from this thread, as it no longer pertains to you. I prefer to speak with the moderator staff, and i'm waiting on a phone call from Dave.
