Got my new Mopar CAI thanks to my neighbor and fellow LX'er

First, thanks MoPOWeR-349 for the great deal and support on the install last night!

    First, the unboxing:

Yep, everything is there. Now for a before:

    And now the final product:

    A couple of notes:

    1) This is a very tight fit. VERY.
    2) Make sure you put the washers on the rubber side of the isolator. Like this:

If you don't, you will get it too tight and it will be hell trying to get it in and out for oiling. This is what it looks like with the washers in the wrong place:

The picture above does not show it well but, it is actually rubbing on the power steering reservoir.

The washers in the right spot, it free it up a bit:

It may not look like much but, it is.

    4) When you install it, forget what the intructions tell you. Asemble the tube first with the elbow (the one at the TB) and the final rubber joiner (opposite end). Preinstall the the filter and it's parts. This will make it easier to move around as you "aim" the filter onto the tube.

These are just what I observed. It really seems like a puzzle to get these all to fit right without rubbing, crunching, crimping, binding etc.

Now, some odd things I noticed when I removed the stock air box. There was oil all over the bottom of it. Check this out:

What the heck is all this? Anyone else see this on their install?

I bet someone missed the fill tube and didn't clean up the mess very well. The oil filter and dipstick are on the opposite side so that's the only think I can think of that would explain it.

My plessure... I was merely there in a spectator role and provide spiritual support. Besides, a well timed excuse to escape from the wife. Oh crap, was that my outside voice...? Oh well I'm sure she'll never read this post. Wait... I think I've said that before after she caught me saying that last time.

Steve--I know what that is... and its not from an oil over fill.

It's from all those WOT runs I see you do as you leave the house in the morning. That damn thing is sucking the oil and crap right out of the asphalt. That damn thing is like a vacuum cleaner!
