    The Texas Mile report....

Wow, what a weekend of speed. It was great to meet other Mopar fans at the Texas Mile.

In attendance were 3 Challengers running 140-145mph, a tuned SRT Cherokee @ 152mph, 3 Magnums and a 300. Only the Challengers, Cherokee & Lou’s Magnum were running in the event.

There were lots of other interesting vehicles.

So here is the run down of Lou’s passes.

Saturday morning was bright, cool & clear. ç I’m talking about the weather, NOT Lou! J

We didn’t arrive in time to see Lou’s 1st run but he crossed the speed trap with a blistering 55 MPH. Whhhewwww! Impressive, huh?
That pass put him in close competition with one other vehicle that made a 67 mph pass! Come on Lou, you can beat him!

Actually, Lou had a minor issue that tripped the computers limp mode around the ¼ marker (130ish) and he coasted the rest of the way down the course.

Lou made a second run at 168 after we got there, spraying from about 1/2 mile.

Next time out, it was decided to run ALL MOTOR and dethrone the other famous red Magnum who holds the record @ 160.898mph. With that pass a 155.xxx was recorded. Not fast enough for a new all motor record.

For lunch, we grilled a brisket, sausage and hot dogs. Nothing but the finest for us

Next pass, Lou’s is hitting the bottles again. <== NO not those.....THESE!!!!

The plan is to hit the NOS in 4th gear, let off to shift and hit it again in 5th. That pass neted a 177.xxx mph pass, with no issues. It was really cool to hear and see that monster motor roaring down the track. It definitely gained lots of attention and respect! As we watched Lou return down the tarmac to the pit area, there were accolades and thumbs up everywhere! Folks are hollering and taking pictures as he returns. You could see Lou waving to the crowd like a NASCAR winner. I’m glad he didn’t do any donuts or try a backflip.

That brought to a close our day and the Capital City crew headed back to Austin.

Sunday morning weather was again bright and clear. Lou called in and reported on Sunday’s passes.

One more attempt for the All Motor record resulted in a 159.303. Well, it looks like the All Motor of 160.898mph in Red’s car still stands. Come on all you big motored talkers, there's another event in October.

The next pass was going to be the last, so Lou could get back on the road to Florida. With bottles loaded and ready, he makes one more netting a 182.832mph!

WOW~! I can only imagine what that was like and how the crowd responded that time!

What was the fastest car out there? A Ford GT heavily modded was hitting 223. There were some bikes hitting high 220's. A Supra that showed up to run Sunday is expected to get well into the 230's. It runs low 8.4's in the qtr @ 178mph. and is re-geared to top out at the traps. THIS just in....he hit 241.8
Congrats to Lou and his friend Philippe on a great weekend. You should be proud!

    (video's to come)

Red is prepping for SEMA and some other business and home obligations. I texted to him a couple of times and spoke to him last night.

I think he is genuinely happy for Lou, though wishes he could have been there.

Lou made a second run at 168 after we got there, spraying from about 1/2 mile. The all motor run was the third run of the day.

It sure was a sight to see him coming down pit row after the 177 run. waving to the crowd, huge smile on his face. Lots of people on the pit road had dumbfounded looks on their face at the wagon that just run with the Z06's
