WTF is the problem? break it; burn it; slam it to the floor.

Now, I've been around the track for a *little* while... By NO MEANS, am I an expert driver, or anything like that. But heck... I CAN jam the "go" pedal to the floor just like the rest of 'em.

Most of ya know, that I run with my 22's on the car...My 60' times were OBVIOUSLY the worst ever, because of tall the rotating mass, etc...

But today would be different. I proclaimed that I shall NOT run crappy 60' times! NOT this time my friends! I recently aquired some nice DR's for this day....(Thanks Rob!)... and I expected to improve my 1/4 time by a little bit! ... Certainly my 60' times would have improved and gotten below 2.0 right!?!? WRONG!!!

so... WTF is MY problem?? Here's my timeslips from the day. Talking to the rest of the guys, they're 60' times seemed pretty normal, so the track and conditions; while hot/humid, were within reason for this comparison.

On each of these runs, I had the rpm's raised to just above 1000 rpms...and even up to about 1500 on one of these slips (I forget which one). but the 60' times are STILL NOT below 2.0 ... I dunno WTF is going on.
Oh... tires stuck like glue at launch!

As far as mods, you guys know. (see sig)...but heck, I'll lay 'em out again for those that dont view sigs:

    Airhammer Intake.
    ported TB.
    Spartan cam.
    JBA high-flow cats.
    SLP catback exhaust.
    CMR tune.
    and 17 X 8.5 Borbet TS w/ 275/40 Hoosiers

I dunno....... any ideas from the experts???

Pay no attention to that final 1/4 time at the far right slip... just working on the 60' time.

One thing of note... The DR's sure make a difference at the end! Gearing is a weeeeee bit different than the 22's!!! LOL!

Also... on the mod schedule ... I've got SRT headers and cats/mids to go on the car next. I dunno if that will help the 60 tho.

You may have to bring the rpms up more because of the cam. It moves the powerband up. I launch around 1500 and get my best 60' times. However, I have a converter and stock cam. You may need a looser converter to get the most out the cam and the 60' times. (I know spend more money right.) You may trying launching it at higher rpm and see how that works. It was my third or fourth time out on the drag radials before I finally got it right.

might be the cam, and lack of a torque converter.
i didnt think the spartan was that big tho, whats the specs on that stick?

do you pull your rear seat/spare/jack? (the rear seat bottom just pops out)

    p.s.
id be concerned about LOSING power using Stock SRT mids.... you really ought to get some mangaflow 6.1 high flow midpipes to go with those new headers or you will be hurting. going frmo JBA HF mids to stock ones

Mike I have been doing a lot of thinking on this as well seeing how we are in the same boat...I think its the cam...I believe put in a good stall converter and we should be golden...the cam performs awesome on the top end of the track, I think were just not quite into the powerband enough in the 60 foot.
Mods: 6.1 motor with PPP Ported Heads and 224/228 598/578 113LSA, stock tq converter, stock SRT headers with gutted cats, JBA 3in exhaust, LMI hammer design intake. The only 6.1 motor running a 2.82 rear.....Soon to be 3.06 gears.....Installs done by Afterhours Mopar Performance

Not exactly what I wanna hear...

I'm hoping its driver error(s)... ..ie. bring the rpm's up a little higher, practice..more practice. <sigh>

Converter with that cam Mike. Also the stock manifolds choke the crap out of your mods.....might as well not even have the cam with them.....get the SRT headers on ASAP and you will be shocked at the difference. However the 2.0 60 will not improve much without a converter.....maybe 1.90 at best.
