    World's Slowest SRT

So, as far as the track is concerned, I am officially hating the 6-spd manual. The following is all of my timeslips, and I'm hoping someone might be able to give me some advice. I know my R/T su**s (the last run was me leaving on the second yellow ) But I'm not sure how I can improve my 60' much (the last three or so had barely a chirp on launch)

Unfortunatly, it doesn't seem like anyone's really draging the manuals (or atleast no one that posts about it) so if anyone could give me some tips/advice, it would be much appreciated.

Its all in your 60 foot. Im not sure what a good 60 foot in a 6 speed would be but I have to think mid 2's is horrible. You practice your launch more and Id be willing to bet you can shave half a second off your ET easy.

^^^^^ What he said. There's actually like over 1 second in your 60ft times. Loose .7 in sixty foot and you will loose about 1 second on the ET.

That's running the canned 91 tune. DR will come, but didn't want to get them now and get 1-2 months of use before I had to store.

youre MPH is awesome dude, whats killing you is your 60 ft.
my rule that i have seen and proved to myself time and dtime again is for every 1/10 in the 60 ft is like 2/10th in the big end.

knock that 60ft down to 2.0 and you will be looking at low 13 second times easily

as far as getting those 60's, i dont know much about drag racing a manual car to be honest, i would think dumping the clutch at a higher rpm?

I race with some friends that have an SRt8 6spd weekly. They were in the 14's and could not get much over 100mph. I sold them my old M&H drag radials and they are now running 13.30's @ 106 with no other changes. They were spinning terribly off the line...then more with each shift.

Get some DR's and you will see a tremendous improvement.

That's your answer. Then practice launching at different rpms. I'll bet some sticky tires and a 3500-4500 rpm launch and that 60' time will drop like a rock. As fun as manual transmissions are to drive, it's nearly impossible to beat an automatic drag racing, unless your name is Ronnie Sox!

I have a set of M&H's that would probably help some...

Kinda cool seeing an SRT8 that I'd not have much trouble with, but I'm sure you'll surpass my 13.5 @ 104 with some time and practice...

Your 60's are killing you. 102mph is good for mid 13's pretty easily.

ROLL OUT!! You shouldn't get the DR's until you get into the mid 13's, then you'll be set at hitting some 12's. Re-badge to look like an SE and you'll appeat to be a badass!! Atleast you are wise enough to ask for advice, I'm sure somebody has the answer you are looking for. MotorTrend managed a 13.6 in the R/T manual.. Time, patience, and knowledge will get you there.

    X2.

As others have said you simply need more practice. Mix it up, try something diffrent...

Try rolling into the throttle and not just dropping the clutch and mashing the gas (if that's what you're doing). When I use to race my '67 Mustand 4sp toploader I had the following combo while staged at the light: left foot on the clutch and semi-engaging the flywheel, right foot on the gas and brake--I'd let my foot slide of the brake and roll into the throttle. To much gas to quick and a quick clutch drop always equated to a crappy 60' for me.

Keep with it...you'll find that combo...
