Trying to figure out what the car should do........

Looking at my latest attempt at the strip and wow......maybe tomorrow I will learn how to launch this pig.......

Here is one of the runs, the run begins at 25 seconds into it

    http://s182.photobucket.com/albums/x...2-12-13-01.mp4

If I can learn to relax and 60' this pig what do you suppose a good ballpark would be for the car

    60' 2.268 330' 6.028 660' 8.992 990' 11.445 1320' 13.644 MPH 106.62
    60' 2.505 330' 6.253 660' 9.217 990' 11.672 1320' 13.874 MPH 105.77
    60' 2.444 330' 6.175 660' 9.137 990' 11.590 1320' 13.793 MPH 105.49
    60' 2.425 330' 6.379 660' 9.395 990' 11.872 1320' 14.085 MPH 105.91

    So I split the times 330-60....660-330...990 by 660 and 1320 by 990...

I can see traction in the first 330 is an issue where I really need to pay attention to the car.

The times from 660 to the 1320 are so close and very consistent and thats great

Based on the above anyone got an idea on what I should be running if I can pull a 60' of 1.7 to 1.9? Tomorrow I plan on starting the day with the Nitto drag radials 275/40/20's at 17psi and will have a compressed air tank with me....I am planning to adjust up from there, or should I be starting high and adjusting the pressure down?

So far I have learned alot about the car and racing. Even though my times are ridiculous for my mods I am pretty happy knowing I still should tickle the 12's if I can launch the car.

I would start the PSI at 25lbs and work down from there....17lbs might work but you might be a little unstable at speed....you have a low/mid 12s car....just need to get it launched...

17 lbs is to low, I'd start 1t 20-22lbs, then go down if you spin. I ran 17 psi last trip and did not hav fiull contact ara. check your contact area, when You see a line onthe outside edge that is differnt colored than the rest your PSI is to low. you definatly will see 12.8x or better if you can launch, so maybe pracitice that somewhere safe. I generaly just load the TC up enough to feel the car try to pull forward, then go to WOT while lifting off of the brake ..at the third amber light. I think your car is capable of a 1.7-1.85 60 foot. go or it!

That's a lot of gear but with some GOOD drag radials/slicks I'd think you could still hook it and go fast. Maybe some Hoosier 28x10x17 slicks?

It may not be set up ideal for the strip but I bet that car is fun to drive!

It is a blast and tomorrow morning we will try again..last week I pulled a 12.9 with a 1.85 60' time. Learned a little bit more about racing and I have centerline rims on order and once fit is verified those 28x10x17 Hoosiers are going on....

Thanks for the tip on tire psi I will try it in the morning!!

I can launch like a SOB....until I get to the track but I think its a driver needs to relax thing!!! So to compensate for the driver I have some hoosiers on the way..
