SRT8 Charger on Summit Point road course (video)

I was at the track this past weekend (Hyperfest) running HPDE3 for the first time.....on 18in race slicks. Car ran 8 seconds faster than I have before on street tires and I passed ALOT of cars (of course I got passed by some too). I had also just installed all the "frankencoolers" and added a tow hook while at it. Other than minor pedal fade using Wilwood EXP at the end of a session the car ran great, had a passenger that was dying to ride in the car that couldn't stop laughing, and I had a great time. Seems once your fast enough the front Brembos turn dark burgundy with gold/brown lettering (still worth it!!)

Ran a number of 1:29 laps which I'm happy with.

As I was heading to my dust covered car for my last session a guy is taking video of the car. We talk for a minute then I head on.......had no idea the guy was creating a short narrative for youtube!!!!!

(be warned, I sound like a complete dork!!!)
Racing is like sex.........why would you want it to only last 10 seconds?????

Road course session last 25-40 minutes each!!!!

looks good, do you have the brake coolers ? without them you will eventually burn off the dust boots on the calipers also

I made my own but is there an "off the shelf" product out there?

From the scoops in the facia I took the factory routing to the wheel well out and used 2in duct (all I had) and routed it to the inside of the rotor. Seems to have helped and never had an issue until this weekend. Summit is short and tough on brakes, VIR (next month) is longer and much more forgiving on them.

Soft pedal with the EXP is a sure sign of some heat there! When the time and budget allows for it this could be your solution:

    W6A with Thermlock Pistons
    TCE
    Your one stop...for Wilwood brakes.

Definitely have to have brake cooling directly to the rotor/caliper. Loved the video, nice work there!

Sure looked like fun! I haven't run VIR or Summit yet...

From the second VIR video, was that a V8 Miata right at the beginning? I met one of the guys from V8Roadsters last year at Bristol.

Get down here, VIR is a dream. As for the Miata....I have no idea but I doubt it.

I'm running HPDE3....basically run what you brung. There are a few cars from slower classes and some "real" race cars that ate me up in the twisties (I could "drag race" anyone and found myself lift on the straights for a couple people)......watched a race prep corvette pass me then go off right into the gravel trap.

SWEET!!! You were on the outside of turn 4 there. I noticed a camera along the fence a few times but as you can imagine, I'm not exactly watching you that close!! That big ol pig isn't the fastest thing out there.....but it's faster than most people expect.

Guess I'm fully compressing the suspension there huh???

Pretty awesome stuff!!! Can you give us some about average times of other factory cars around that track to give us an idea how how quick you are around the course?
