Should be a good race, but the drivers being equal you should have the edge. The Shelby GT is a lightly upgraded Mustang GT, has about 30 more HP than a stock GT.
    Figure around a 13.5-13.8 1/4 mile.

The Shelby GT is a GT Mustang with fords Racing exhaust, CAI, and a bit lower gear. They are rated at 318 horse over the GT's 300. You wouldn't have any problem with him giving you can get traction. I am a converted ex Mustang guy, our cars are why!!!

I have beaten every stock Shelby GT (not GT500) at the local 1/8th mile with my Mag RT with a Flashpaq 91 octane tune, raised shift points, reduced Torque Management setting, Paddle Kick setting and start in 1st, ESP off, rear 255-55-18 KDW-2 tires at 25 psi, fronts at 45 psi, by at least 2/10 of a sec every time ... some have come closer and lost, others have not come close at all because they can't shift the suckers fast enough, and lost ... either way, I'm running consistent 8.9 times and winning ... the new AFE Stage 2 CAI goes on this week just in time for the new season, I'm hoping to drop a tenth of a second with the added air, cooler intake temp and I'm going to reduce weight some more by taking things out of the car I really don't need to be carrying around on race day...lol....

Well, for what it's worth, my friends Shelby GT500 walked all over my Charger R/T, his stock, mine with just cat back exhaust upgrade. I did stay with him for approximately 3 feet!

    Surprise, Surprise!

Sure was fun going for a ride in it afterward though.

I actually saw a guy with a GT500 at the track once and his best time of the night was a 13.5 and he couldn't hookup. But even with a good driver they only run mid to upper 12s from what I hear.

well i raced the shelby gt this morning and we didnt have a clock on it but we raced three times and i won easily by about 4 lengths each time i am assuming because he couldnt drive it like a professional only one time he was able to hang with me for even a little bit and thats because it was his best launch and it was my worst reaction time but after 60ft i pulled away like every other run we did
