Progressive Controller Working Well on 420

I replaced my Zex system with some very nice solenoids and a progressive controller from the Nitrous Outlet and ended up with my best ET so far.

Air temp was 77 and the humidity was 90-95 %.

    Here is the timeslip:

Here is a video of an earlier run in three parts:

Waiting in the burnout box (I love that sound!):

Here's the burnout (there's normally more smoke):

Here's the launch and run. If you listen, you'll hear me short shifting to stay in the torque peak (below 5000) and get it into 4th before the traps. I'm not sure that theory works, though, since my best ET was running the gears up to 6200 and staying in 3rd through the traps (I think).

All in all, a nice evening at Moroso. I think I moved up a notch on the timeslip database. Fun, fun, fun.

I'm hoping for cooler, drier weather before too long. That should be interesting.

Nice times Lou. With a little bit cooler and drier weather you're going to need a roll cage in that thing.

Those are nice 60' times. What drag radials are you running? Have you upgraded the halfshafts yet?

I think I'm one of the first to put on the 1000 hp level V shafts from the DSS. I just got that set of 305/45/18 Nitto's mounted on Voooxxx? wheels from tbyrne. I like them.

Torque will get you off the line, horsepower will keep you accelerating once you're already moving at speed. Compromise... find the sweet spot so you hit the traps right at the peak of 3rd, assuming you can run it out that long without falling off of your power curve too. But damn, nice time! Almost makes me wanna hit the bottle!

Hit it, you'll like it--I know those 6.1 and 6.1 based motors love it.

Well, didn't you see the light come on in my lane? Actually, since I've worked out the setup a bit, I haven't been beaten in the Sportsmen class by anyone. Vipers, Vettes, Marauders, Mustangs, Evo's have all fallen.

I'll take some pics of the new nitrous setup tomorrow to post. It's not particularly pretty, but it feeds the beast nicely.

There is 6 progressive controllers listed on the nitrous outlet website. I went to their site before i asked the question.

i'd also like to know why he chose the one he got over the others.

    Thanks lou.

I'm assuming they recommended that controller? Did give a reason? cost benefit

I like the features of the maximizer 2 myself.

It looks like the maximizer 2 has tons more functionality for triple the cost. For me, the simple dual channel functionality of the one I purchased seemed adequate to the task. I doubt I'll ever need the second channel for a second stage (I'm already knocking hard on the 11.5 second door). I just wanted to be able to play with the delay, ramp begin percent, and ramp duration.

A couple of questions since i'm interested in gettin a zex kit.. yet you change yours.. what where the reasons..what did or didn't you like about it..Is the fogger plate worth the $$$ for a zex kit.. Does the plate fogger give you a better shot...and last is the zex window swtch just like your progressive controller.. i see yours also does a second stage but besides that? what type of shot are you runnin..just tryin to learn a little before i continue with my shoppin list ..thnx in advance
Nice run by the way !! i would love to reach that speed.
